Decortication is the process of separating the outer bast fibers from the inner woody core. Each have multiple end uses, where bast fibers are used in cordage, textiles, and composites while core is used for animal bedding, “hempcrete”, and fiberboard. This small scale decorticator is useful for testing purposes and small scale operations.
