Jasmine Sambac & Marigold by Jo Malone London is a Floral fragrance for women. Jasmine Sambac & Marigold was launched in 2018. Jasmine Sambac & Marigold was created by Celine Roux and Mathilde Bijaoui. Top note is Marigold; middle notes are Jasmine Sambac, Ylang-Ylang and Honey; base note is Benzoin.

“Jasmine is famous in perfumery. The question was, how could we do it in a Jo Malone London way? We travelled to India in search of jasmine sambac – the queen of all jasmine. Combined with the unexpected notes of marigold, it became a warm and addictive floral fragrance. Perfect for Cologne Intense.” - said Celine Roux, one of perfumer of the Jasmine Sambac & Marigold composition.

The fragrance is created in collaboration of Celine Roux and a Master perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui as a fresh and unexpected combination of flowers, noble jasmine sambac and lovely marigold.

What’s so unique about jasmine sambac?

Céline: "It’s the queen of jasmine in India, the one people adorn their hair with and use in cultural rituals. The blossoms are picked at dawn, by women who treat the buds like precious jewels. The flowers are then transported to the market, where their arrival is so eagerly awaited. The energy there is just captivating. I loved the juxtaposition of the colourful market against the calm of the jasmine fields. In terms of scent, jasmine sambac has a very pretty, light floral feel."

Mathilde: "It has hints of orange blossom and fresh honey with a dewy, natural facet that feels quite youthful. The challenge was to make this Cologne Intense smell as close to the flower as possible – but recreating the scent of nature is what I love most about my job."

Jasmine Sambac & Marigold is available as a 50ml and 150ml Cologne Intense.

This one was my favourite Jo Malone intense scent before I found Myrrh and Tonka. Very strong yet dark jasmine. It’s such a sexy scent, use with caution.

MichelleSouza

I bought this one used on Mercari, it was a blind buy, and it is exactly the same as Do Son EDP (Diptyque) and that one is a greenish, clean tuberose, the notes are very different, but the scent is the same. The only difference I would point out is that this one has better lasting power.

Riri33

This perfume is captivating. Soft daytime pleasant scent for a person that is kind smiles often and is feminine. Truly transforms on skin. On paper it remains just a Clean crispy Jasmine scent. Definitely needs the warmth of skin to shine. Last 5 hours or so but is never loud. Resembles Armani prive jasmine perfume and perhaps the vert malachite from the same line. Full bottle worthy.

cheleine

Jasmin Rouge, Carnal Flower? Really guys? Some of you need your noses checked.
Very different scents.
Jasmine Sambac & Marigold is a soothing, slightly sweet, warm and very natural jasmine scent. The honey is really coming through in a lovely and elegant way. The opening is so creamy and mouthwatering and something in the composition brings me back to my childhood. By the drydown, a darker and sexier side of jasmine unfolds. Benzoin is always there making everything velvety smooth, sweet and comfortable.
I’m usually not impressed with Jo Malone scents but here we have a truly outstanding offering in the Intense line and yes, the performance is finally satisfying.
Full bottle worthy and a must try for white floral lovers!

daisy366

This is a really great, true jasmine fragrance. It felt like a pretty intense perfume to me, but not in an overwhelming way. A clean intensity.

Bee91

A beautiful jasmine scent, wonderfully soothing. You can feel the other notes, but they do not compete for centre stage.
The ylang ylang adds a creamy, exotic feel to the white flowers, while the calendula feels tender and innocent (probably because it's so used in newborn bath products). The honey and benzoin add sweetness and warmth, but in a subtle way.

I find this scent incredibly comforting. I expected it to have a sexy and mature vibe, instead it felt like a childhood memory.
It's not what I expected, but it's equally great in a different way.
Staying power is really good.

Netarpearl

Absolutely love this. A great aromatherapy perfume, it makes me feel peaceful. The best way I can describe it is that it smells wise.

ingrid.superstar

Such a sweet, earthy, breathy, naturalistic fragrance. Captures the sweetness of jasmine without veering into any sugared, artificial territory. Grounded by the musky, pungent funk of marigold, the overall effect is a balmy, honeyed white floral, evoking the garden, but still smelling like a skin-loving perfume-as-such, not just a bottled floral essence. Effervescent and balsamic all at once. The most intriguing Jo Malone I’ve tried so far. As a rule, I seem to be really fond of Mathilde Bijaoui’s creations.

Wooster97

Itsarnotau - maybe try with cypress and grapevine from Jo malone or myrh and tonka

itsanrnotau

Got a BIG bottle of this for Christmas from my mother. I’m a 30 year old man. I do wear some female-orientated perfumes but this is way too floral for me and I’m pretty confused why she thought I’d like it. Anyway, enough of me sounding ungrateful. Does anybody have any recommendations on what to layer this up with to make something a little more interesting and masculine? It’s definitely a nice scent but seems more suited to an elderly woman than a young man on its own. I’d still like to get some use out of it

ghoul333

i really like this! kind of a darker, more masculine/unisex jasmine. i'm not sure how much marigold i'm getting as i'm not super familiar with that note, but it's very jasmine forward for the first couple hours and gets almost caramellized on the dry down. sometimes jasmine is too grandma-esque for me, but this smells richer and more grounded without being headache-inducing (for me personally)

shiprat

I had a panic for a minute when I thought this was discontinued. I'm a jasmine fan and this is up among my favourites. Intense jasmine with honey and ylang but the marigold makes it not overbearing sweet. Lasts all day on me

Sniffshnuff

Smells like childhood in hong kong-- exactly like those jasmine scented tempo tissue packs everyone carries around there :)

MePerfumeAndI

I sampled several popular scents at Jo Malone and this one caught my attention. There is something special about it. I think it's the honey coming in. It is very pleasant and very comforting to me. I love anything jasmine, however, what really sticks out to me is the warmth of benzoin (I believe?) and the honey. I ended up purchasing a travel cologne to add to my collection.

Ferra_Verto

Lush solar jasmine with a realistic honey and a properly oily ylang. Tropical, creamy, and very beautiful, I love this scent profile in the summer time. It's not an indolic jasmine that's heady and intimidating; this is approachable and very wearable.
I get a little over 8 hrs with this scent.

Murmur123123

This smells so much better on skin than on test paper. If you like white florals, this is a must-try - the jasmine is very well balanced and accompanied by the other notes and it is overall not too sweet, but smooth, warm and sensual. It is not heady or sharp at all.

alternateu

I love jasmine, and I love honey.
I expected to like it, and I did!
The jasmine is beautiful and realistic (almost reminding me of that "crisp, clean jasmine" vibe in Tom Ford's Jasmin Rouge), with just a hint of honey (to me, the absolute right amount).
Not "unique", but very inoffensive, very pleasant, and a beautifully realistic scent.
Unfortunately, the Jo Malone longevity and projection seems to be pretty universally bad. This one is not much different. It lasts longer than her Colognes, definitely, but this one is similarly disappointing in terms of projection and longevity for the price.
Longevity: Three hours
Projection: Moderate in the opening, then rapidly fades to a skin scent.

Compared with the other jasmine-honey fragrances I've tried so far:
- Elie Saab's Le Parfum: More orange blossom + honey, with jasmine in the background.
- Serge Luten's "Fils de Joie": FDJ is much sweeter, more unique, and more distinct with that slightly camphoraceous finish. This one is more readily pleasing, though, and is more of a "straight jasmine".

Kizzyb93

I’ve been using this quite a lot for ,out of the shower and straight into bed fragrance most nights , this one is one of my favourites to unwind after a long day
The jasmine in this on my skin is a little bit airy and it dries down a real calming creamy quite sweet scent
I’m some one who usually goes for a lot heavier fragrances so this is something I probably wouldn’t wear in the day but for bed time this is very pretty and I do really like this .
I can’t really speak on the sillage or longevity but I do think this is blind buy worthy

Vanerolimusky

White florals are really my thing, especially jasmine. When I came across this, it naturally became my go-to scent.

violeteme

A well-behaved, well-mannered, polite jasmine for people who don't really like the pungency of jasmines in their natural being. No lushness, no vegetal, jungle, menthol quality, no indoles, slight, but only slight creaminess and sweetness, no dewiness, no mothballs, rubber or bubblegum. An association - perfume for proper ladies, who enjoy going to parks, but don't ever garden themselves and don't really know or appreciate the plants in their natural state. Doesn't smell similar to Carnal Flower, doesn't smell similar to Jasmin Rouge, Lys 41, California Revierie or any other more popular mentions. Another similar type is Ikat Jasmin by Aerin, but it is brighter, more natural, more like not yet fully blooming jasmines in the morning. Jasmine Sambac is more mature than Ikat Jasmin. Mostly, jasmine here behaves like the jasmine in Pure Poison.

erika.isme.98

Very floral but not bad

adelaidesandrina

Smells quite similar to carnal flower. Waxy, milky, green jasmine with a coconutty dry down. It’s very pretty and breezy

Kcbear28

So we stayed at the Raj Palace in Jaipur, India in 2018 (Would you look at that? It’s the same year this perfume came out!) for over a week. Exquisite hotel. Every time the housekeeping had been in, you could smell these beautiful florals in the air. It’s the same scent in the foyer too. Just everywhere. I tried asking the staff multiple times what it was and they said it’s probably fresh marigold and jasmine. I loved it so much so I was on a hunt for a marigold and jasmine essential oil (You guess it, I have 4 diffusers in the house) for months, so I could relive the memories.

Then I found this baby! This is it. This is the smell I was obsessed with when we stayed at the hotel. It’s decadent, beautiful and just indescribable to me. If I could spray the whole house, bathe in it or drink it, I would. Unfortunately, I just have to stick to spraying it (heavily) on my body instead.

medusa666

Smelling this for the first time yesterday, gave me an immediate, beautiful scent of the real jasmine flower and was very glad I found it...or so I thought..
About two hours later (and even more so the next day), it turned into a common, sweet combination of what resembles a summer perfume reminding me of Giorgio Armani's Light di Gioia. In other words, lacks 'character'.
Just another copy of something else. Nothing to be surprised for since it was launched in 2018..

Jwdp

I just declared this as my favorite Jo Malone fragrance, went to their website to read more about it, and discovered that it has been retired. So sad…such a beautiful, mesmerizing scent.

scissorhandedly

Balmy, solar jasmine. The other notes are very light in comparison. It's quite a realistic jasmine, but it has body - there's this fullness to it and it's distinctly high quality. It's actually a stunning perfume. If I were more of a girly girl, this would be one of my go-to's.

croissant_pari

I believe Jasmine Sambac and Marigold shines in the heat of summer and shocks you in the cold of winter with its power. I gave it a sniff at the air-conditioned atmosphere of a beauty store and all I thought was ''herbal shampoo, a good herbal shampoo''. Took a sample with me. A lovely summer's day came reaching a high of 36 degree Celsius outside; there wasn't a more sensual and refreshing choice to wear than Jasmine Sambac and Marigold. I wear it during the winter months as well because I can't get over how alluring it gets with its thick, white and yellow flower flavoured honey scent!

TunyaPe

I am 100% sure there is vanilla that is not listed.
And sorry, all I detect is ‘soft’ jasmine, vanilla, amber, and some gardenia. No aromatic marigold. I am not sold and not following the hype but understand it.

Lcprickett

Smells like your standard clean sweet jasmine but with a slightly balmier touch from the benzoin. Very good lasting power, decent projection. All in all a very enjoyable fragrance if you want to smell clean and pretty but I was hoping for something a bit more unique

SilkyWoods

I adore this. That’s all.

Chesco

Stroonnnnng floral opening, almost over-bearing, with a retro outdated selection of floral notes. :/

Mid has the Ylang-Ylang coming into play making it lean a bit yummy. And maybe a touch of shampoo coconut?

It's a beautiful fragrance that just smells completely outdated for modern standards, imo of course.
Reminds me of cheap shampoo from the early 1990's.
Buy it for your grandma or old aunt. lol
As a guy, this was a rare testing that made me scrub it off after one hour.
It's not bad, its actually great for it's genre of scent, signature worthy for someone that can pull it off.

I tested this at the JM counter and loved the first whiff. It smells just like the fresh sampaguita flowers (jasmine sambac) in Southeast Asia. However, I only tested it on the card and bought the full bottle anyway, and it was a big mistake. When I sprayed this on my skin, it is beautiful initially, but after about 30mins, the jasmine scent goes away and you are left with a slightly sweet warm smell (not vanilla) that I'm guessing might be the benzoin. The jasmine just completely disappears. What a bummer.

I had to return the bottle unfortunately. For the $$$ they charge, that jasmine sambac better stay on at first spray and last on your skin for at least for 4 hrs. Definitely test on your skin before you buy.

encens_ancien

If you like this, you should try Goutal's Songes. A divine jasmine and ylang.

crea11

I’ve been searching a long time for my perfect jasmine frag, unfortunately this isn’t it for me. It’s a very sweet Jasmine with a hint of herbal-ness. It’s a pleasant smell, nothing cloying but if you’re looking for a fresh, realistic jasmine scent this isn’t it.

EmpressVision

Oh MY! This is my one of my favorite jasmine fragrances. This has one of the best projections for JM (besides Myrrh and Tonka). Every whiff is like spring or cooler summer days. It always makes me smile. Simple elegance...warm and sweet. And it layers well with other fragrances for added dimension. One of the best JM fragrances available and I sampled a LOT.

daffodilsandcoffee

I got a sample of this a year ago and didn't love it. Now I have a bottle. It's classy, sensual, timeless.

At first, it seemed too simple to me. Smelled beautiful but like real flowers vs. a perfume composition.

Now, I'm more into photo-realistic fragrances and this smells like the most delicious pure jasmine. The benzoin base gives it warmth. Someone on YouTube described this as the "jasmine that got her Masters Degree" and that's a perfect description.

janevee

I was expecting this to be more green and fresh because of the marigold note but it’s not at all. This is a sweet, powdery floral and by powdery I mean it reminds me of this scented chalky paste used in religious ceremonies and in temples in Asia. It is mixed with fragrant water and jasmine petals. This reminds me of that but it’s also warm and sugary, almost appetizing at some points along the scent progression journey.

thestranger

This started out very Jasmine, and I am partial to Jasmine. However, within an hour it smelled exactly like that old person smell. You know, like your grandma’s house? What is that?

luminaries

It starts off as an airy jasmine with an almost bitter quality to it, I think this is from the herbal marigold. Then it gradually becomes sweet and creamy, but the jasmine sticks through it all. I'm not a fan of sweet scents in general, but I really like the way this one developed every time I wore the sample. I also like how the sweetness of the jasmine here never veers into beachy territory the way some other jasmine perfumes do and the sillage and longevity of this was really great, especially for a Jo Malone. The most similar to this perfume would probably be Tom Ford's Jasmin Rouge because it also has a sweeter dry down to it, but I don't think this smells like Lys 41 at all.

aloe_tree

I love the scent of jasmine in the opening, but it becomes cloying with more than one spray. Soon morphs into too-sweet honey with a whiff of a humid, over-chlorinated public pool changeroom.

yosle29

So far it is the best Jo Malone scent I have ever had. Notes of jasmine and marigold are very clear and subtly integrated. It is the Cologne Intense and it stayed on my skin for more than 7 hours, the sillage is above average, I received a lot of compliments from this scent. The floral flavor of this fragrance is truly unique, elegant and unmistakable. I had 50ml at first then I gave it to my friend, now I bought 100ml so I can wear it all day. I am so in love with this scent.

emma katherine

I don't know how it keeps happening but JM fragrances have a tendency to have identical dupes at The Body Shop. If you love this smell, try the Japanese Camellia cream from TBS's Spa of the World range. They are also perfect to layer with each other so if you want this scent in a lotion but don't want to break the bank at JM, try that cream.

Queenbink

I've never been to India, but lived in the Philippines as a teenager. We traveled widely to Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. This Jo Malone scent transports me to the 1970's, to hot humid markets heaped with strange food and spices, with an open culvert flowing down the street and exotic flowers climbing walls in profusion. I love/hate this scent for obvious reasons. It is visceral: dirty, and beautiful at the same time. I can almost smell humanity and hear temple bells when this wafts up from my wrists. It is powerful (almost a scrubber), but so intoxicating and enchanting I can't look away. It is my past. But isn't this what a perfume should do? Transport us, sometimes with challenges, but if you can't look away, if you keep coming back even though you can't figure out what it is invoking in your memory, it is a masterpiece. When a scent captures life, even if only for you, it is art.

elizadabrowskabieruta

This one is eternal on me. I can smell it overwhelming on my skin even after 12h+. It is also gorgeous - it's like jasmine flowers immersed in honey. This cologne intense is definitely worth trying for those loving light jasmine scents with very sweet, warm base.

MsFCAS

This is stunning. Like most Jo Malone scents, it's meant to be layered. This gives you a beautiful, classic jasmine base upon which to layer other scents. The Jo Malone website says to go fresher, try it with Blackberry and Bay, English Oak and Hazlenut (would make an amazing men's scent), or with Wild Bluebell. I will for sure try it with Blackberry and Bay, which is one of the top Jo Malone scents in my opinion.

For warmer, they recommend Wood Sage & Sea Salt, Myrrh & Tonka, Rose & White Musk, or Tuberose Angelica. I think I'd find the Tuberose combination a bit overwhelming but I might try it for kicks anyway!

jules097

I’m not a floral person but I loved this, it reminded me of Jasmine tea. I find that you can get away with this scent all year. Unfortunately on me it dried down really sweet and gave me a bit of a headache, but I guess I just didn’t vibe with it. Awesome fragrance, ended up giving it to a girlfriend

WGG

After a full opening, dries quickly to a soft, creamy, somewhat watery jasmine, providing a close, and soft perfume bubble. Might project better in summer heat. Marketed as 'cologne intense' I think this is expensive for what you get.

weirdhoney21

This is a very vibrant, creamy jasmine! It's sweet while still having an alluring, sexy quality to it and perfect for spring/summer. It's quite strong and would be best suited to someone who wants to make a statement. The benzoin and honey base creates a beautiful, sweet bed for the jasmine and ylang-ylang to lay on. Jasmine lovers will adore this! I appreciate this kind of fragrance but it's not to my personal taste.

7/10

denizua

A dirty, heavy jasmine. This is not your typical jasmine - white florals scents. Its powerful and deep. I don't recommend bind buying.

Gardinette

some type of Godess's perfume...

9/10

eliego7

This is a better, deeper, silkier, longer lasting version of Gerlain Terracotta. I absolutely adore this and I wear it all the time during spring and summer. Sensual, soft and creamy, nothing sharp about this one. Worth every penny.

ladolcemae

I don’t get along well with indolic jasmines, as they smell too much like plastic and mothballs to me. But this ! Finally a perfume where the ylang ylang isn’t toned down with those damn citrus. A cream floral, that would be perfect for summer. Not sure about the longevity, I haven’t tried it alone yet... but HEAR ME OUT, I mixed it with vetiver and golden vanilla, which I LOVE too and MAN. It’s woody, almost incensy, but also sexy, sweet, unisex in a boss lady manner, irresistible. This mix is incredible... She knows her worth, she knows her beauty, she knows her power and no one dares to try her. A powerful head turner.

ma2780

This is a beautiful, bright, sliiiightly indolic jasmine. The opening is vibrant marigold, with the honey and ylang-ylang appearing soon after. The honey, though, is raw and unfiltered, giving the sweetness a very subtly animalic edge. The jasmine shines throughout, but changes shape-- it starts off a pretty, airy floral, but the mid is where it leans very very slightly indolic, probably helped by the "unfiltered" honey. After 30 minutes, this is an exotic, creamy jasmine, with just a touch of sweetness. Anyone who struggles with jasmine may find the mid on this one a little difficult to get past, but for jasmine lovers, this is an easy blind buy. I personally tend to dislike jo malone fragrances more often than I like them, and though this one has some of the signature jo malone airiness/ effortlessness, it's somehow much more sultry and slightly more provocative than most of what the house has to offer. Definitely one of my favs from the house.

Longevity: 4-5 hours
Mood: Marilyn tours coastal India undercover

UPDATE: Once again, honey will be the bane of my existence. The longer I wore this, the less I could ignore how dirty the honey went on me. On a tester strip, this is my ideal jasmine. On my skin, the raw honey turns musty and throws off the balance. Ugh. Please try this if you love jasmine. If it works for you, this is gorgeous.

Gia1913

Most beautiful jasmine opening. It's creamy and comforting. The dry-down however...is more masculine and off-putting for me.

Being in the cologne intense line, it lasts a good 6 hours, with moderate sillage.

Rosemary14

Warm, sweet, deep jasmine, honey, ylang on a bed of benzoin. This is fantastic if your a jasmine lover. This is a Jo Malone that lasts as well. It stuck around 6 to 7 hours on me.

boannika

I very much like this! It's a bit dark and alluring jasmine, a beautiful thing to wear on a summer night out, IMO. The sillage isn't out of this world, so you can easily pull it off as a workscent, too. I' ve had this since February, and I've been trying to figure out what it is in this perfume that gives me Crystal Noir EDT vibes? A tad bit masculine, cologney, with dark coconut undertones....Maybe the combo with marigold makes it a bit coconutty. I have no idea, but it's definately a recommendation from me!

hollymichaelm

This is my favourite perfume. The best Jasmine ever. They have bottled the scent of blooming jasmine on a warm evening under a full moon, with a dreamy creamy base. This is hypnotising. Jasmine lovers won’t regret blind buying this. 10/10

golden.signorina

One of the best jasmin perfumes ever..

Rich creamy a little sweet so smooth feminine jasmin which gives me high end smell in a sophisticate way.
Its a stunning one..

Love it so so so much ❤

jujucherry

I don't say this very often, but Jasmine is probably my favorite flower. I do own over 70 perfume bottles and at least one or two of them have to be jasmine centric. So every time I finish a fragrance bottle I buy a completely new one. I've never bought the same perfume twice (except in rare occasion). So I was running out of my beloved jasmins marzipane and decided to blind buy jasmine sambac & marigold and let me tell you that I'm not disappointed at all. It's a beautiful clean jasmine scent almost soapy with slight sweetness. I thought it was goning to be animalic from the honey but it's not. I can pick up ylang ylang along with ambery notes. The longevity is really great with moderate sillage. It was a very successful blind buy I'm so happy!

elisabethpigeoncaron

This is a sweet, beautiful, sexy jasmine. Summery, rich, just a gorgeous scent. No sharpness at all, just creamy and soft and sweet. I love it during summer. One of the only Jo Malone fragrances that lasts a long time and projects. If you love jasmine, you need to try this one.

kielo

This one smells delicious, exotic and floral at the same time. Very prominent jasmine note supported nicely by warmer notes. I like layering this with blackberry bay cologne or by itself.

GinCatsBooks

Despite the act that this is part of the Cologne intense lineup, Sambac Jasmine and Marigold still has the typical airy "British Garden" feel that most, if not all, Jo Malone fragrances seem to achieve.

SJM opens up with a very similar blast, pollen-y. slightly earthy and a bit dewy, I spent a while scratching my head trying to figure out where I've smelt this before, then it hit me, Alien by Mugler! The opening Jasmine however doesn't stay like this though, after 30 minutes it mellows to reveal a warm, resinous heart with some sweetness from the Ylang Ylang and Benzoin with the Marigold rounding off the entire fragrance beautifully, which is how it continues to smell right up until I take a shower later on in the evening.

This doesn't ever feel like its too much or too heady even during the warmer seasons, its very well balanced and blended, longevity is excellent, I can spritz this on first thing in the morning and still smell it well into the early evening before I take a shower, it lasts FOR DAYS on scarves and coats too! Silage is soft, it tends to hang quite close to the skin as most Jo Malone scents do but it creates a wonderful, comforting aura around the wearer, a definite repurchase

hels

I’ve been putting this fragrance through its paces in the hot & humid Australian summer. Wow! What a bomb. It was never like this is the cooler months.

The warm sultry Jasmine Sambac with a touch of Orange Blossom provides a sophisticated heady tropical experience.
It’s perfect for balmy nights in a bar or restaurant by the ocean.
Such an appropriate scent for this environment.
The Marigold provides a discernible dirty dry down - it’s not overpowering - but this is what keeps the fragrance feeling mature and interesting.
It’s not a slap in your face “sickly sweet attack”.

Longevity is about 4 hours I’d say. But it’s sure to make itself known later if any sweaty business unfolds in the bedroom ;)

I can’t see you getting the same impactful fragrance experience in cooler climates.

tiptoeingtheworld

I was skeptical buying JM Jasmine Sambac & Marigold, until I sprayed it on the back of my hand, waited for 15 minutes then I decided to purchase 50 ml.

The first opening was strong, rather too floral but after 10 minutes it settled nicely on my skin. The jasmine smells great, it's nothing like my grandma's garden (she's a fan of jasmine). The amber somehow tone down the jasmine scent a little bit.

This fragrance lasts for 6 hours on my skin. It lingers long on back of my shirt collar.

elledeelee

Jasmine, especially jasmine sambac, must be my favourite note in perfumery. I will test and probably love anything which heavily features the note, and this was no exception - spraying it onto the test card, I was all cartoon-heart-eyes, instantly head over heels for it. I thought, oh dear, this is completely divine, I'm absolutely in love, but frankly it's extortionate! I kept the test card by my bed for a week to keep sniffing, and it barely even faded. Finally when I got the chance to spray it on my skin.....I was let down. On paper it was an intoxicatingly heady, sexy, heavenly scent that lasted forever. On me, it was quite a polite, soapy, pleasant daytime floral that disappeared in all of half an hour. In a way, I'm relieved - I really couldn't afford to love it anyway.

calesalad

This is a spiced, warm and honeyed floral. When I close my eyes, I see red, orange, copper and gold. It is more of a spicy yellow floral rather than white floral. Speaks more to a dressed up evening vibe. It doesn't have the creamy facets normally associated with a fragrance with this type of name. The marigold, benzoin and honey are more present on my skin than the Jasmine. I was hoping for more Jasmine and it is not a realistic Sambac Jasmine. It is unique that there's no vanilla in the base like every perfume out there but echoes TM's Alien. It is a very likeable perfume but just not for me.

A really stunning JM fragrance. JM can be a struggle with me because while I like (LOVE) so many of their scents, I find many of them to be woefully weak and evaporate to nothing in around an hour. (I'm looking at you, Wood Sage and Sea Salt)

Since this is an intense version, I don't have that problem. Still, it's not the most insane long lasting fragrance out there but the longevity at least makes this a worthy purchase.

My brother gifted this for me for Christmas because he just loved it when he smelled it at the counter. I find this to be a scent that men really like, which I'm a bit surprised by as it's not a sweet fragrance. To me this would seem to be one where you'd get a lot of compliments from women but not from men. That isn't the case. Both men and women love it in my experience.

The fragrance itself is sexy, but not overtly so- still sophisticated and mysterious. I'm a huge jasmine fan and this fragrance just elevates it. The honey gives the smallest hint of sweetness that just rounds it out. Definitely a night time/date night fragrance that can be worn all year round.

I see what people are saying as some have mentioned it feeling a bit "old lady". The very first time I smelled it I may have thought that for just a minute but now I'm in love with it and relate it more to a vintage smell in the best of ways, not a grandma. It's one of those things where I understand where they are coming from but disagree. I wouldn't say this is a safe blind buy though so definitely test it out but I think it's really lovely and a go to dinner date frag.

8.5/10 would recommend

As a 26 year old guy, I am in love with this scent from Jo Malone! It's not overpowering and it's not weak either! Although this is marketed more towards women, the dry down seems to be more masculine! Sillage and longevity is outstanding. Perfect for all climates and perfect for every occasion.

cedar_lea

Thank you everyone that suggested I try this. It is a beautiful heady jasmine, but the marigold and ylang bring it down to earthy garden and make it exactly what I wanted for fall!

Please last, please last, please last

I'd like to call this perfume "essence of a woman". She is sexy, mysterious, feminine, and intoxicating. This is one I would wear if I am out looking for a new man. Seriously, this scent is perfect on every level, from the initial sprays to the drydown. Everything is just the right portion; nothing is too sickly sweet or heady. I can see why this is better to be worn at night, it's got this sultriness and sexiness that is fitting for evening occasions.

Definitely my most favorite from Jo Malone's intense line.

Divine!! Simply divine!!

This is all I have been looking for in a fragrance and then some! So feminine, delicate and warm. But this isn't cloying and isn't suffocating! I love it, it's too stunning and I don't know why it's not talked about. But that's fine because it's my new signature scent and I'd hate for everyone to smell like me! :D It lasts for a good solid 8 hours on my skin without moisturizing. It sticks to clothes for a minimum of 3 days. Starts off very lovely and fresh yet delicate and dies down to a warm cozy creamy skin scent. I want to smell like this everyday 24/7. I don't think I have ever loved a scent so much. This is the cologne intense and I see how the longevity is way more than the regular line. The Cardamom and Mimosa stayed on my skin for 4 hours and this is 8+ hours. I plan to enjoy it all year-round!

I'm testing a sample of this right now, and I'm having intense scent flashbacks to teenage days late 1990s/early 2000s. Can't put my finger on it exactly, but I know I had a five pack of all of the Love's fragrances. There was a Jasmine Musk -- perhaps it's that?

Besides that, it's a lovely scent, clean and fresh. I don't smell much beyond the jasmine at the moment, but the initial memory moment made me rush to comment here before waiting for the whole development/dry down.

cocofluff

Lovely! Smells like the name to me. Sweet Jasmine and spicy marigold. This is one of the more feminine scents in the intense collection. It's my favourite in a 5 piece set I bought recently.

This is quite nice. The opening reminds me of jasmine sambac, but mainly it reminds me alot of the jasmine centric womens perfume like Olene, especially Gucci Bloom. Then as it settles down on my skin, it starts to get a little creamier, I'm not sure but it kind of reminds me a little bit of coconut. Then as usual, it gets softer and softer until it fades out.

This is not like my beloved Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge. Both independently beautiful Jasmine fragrances. This was a complete blind by for me and I am so happy I took the chance.
The other oils blended into this perfume make this in my opinion a very smooth sweet but not overly sweet warm floral. I do not have the authority to speak to the blending of the individual ingredients in any way shape or form.

sibaraa

This is a very very grandmothery fragrance. If you are Arab you will understand what i mean. It's nice, but to me. it's a very old aged targeted fragrance. Reminds me of the incense we burn around the Islamic new year time which happens to be now!!

Oof, thankfully I sampled before blind buying.
I love jasmine, white florals, marigolds, honey, this sounded like a true potential love for me. Plus some reviewers likened it to TF Jasmine Rouge, which I love.
In my experience, Jasmine and Marigold is quite different from the TF.
It smells of Jasmine of course , sure, but in a vintage-y way; it brought to mind white floral perfumes of the 90s (Amarige and the like). The jasmine isn’t indolic or overripe here (say like Lust, Nuda, A la nuit), it’s quite daytime appropriate, soft and fresh yet a bit sweet.
Also, there was a very mild ‘mustiness’ present, kinda like the water in the flower vase that hasn’t been changed in days, just a slight vibe of that, but disappeared towards the dry down.
Sillage and longevity average on me, but I have fragrance eating skin.
I personally prefer Jasmine Rouge over this, likely works better with my skin chemistry

My truly Asian garden. Jasmine and marigold are domain in this perfume, it’s like you step into the garden of Asian countries. Fresh, little soapy and floral scent are words for this perfume. It’s worked nicely with my body chemical. The sillage and longevity were nice about 6-7hours on my skin. It’s nice to find a alternative version of Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge (88euro for 50ml)

aliceium

This is a lovely perfume. I was shocked at how much it reminded me of OGX Bamboo Fibers shampoo! It was the first thing I thought of.

shushkin

I like the jasmine sambac note and love Alien. My first thought was Alien!! Alien edp to be precise. Uncanny. Good longevity and sillage so not quite nuclear as the famous Alien.
If you are not keen on jasmine sambac then avoid. Ok, I can see they have tried to calm it down and round off the jasmine a bit with the marigold and resin and that does work after the initial shock of the opening. The marigold adds a nice herbal touch and stops the scent becoming too heavy and overwhelming.
If Alien or TF Jasmin Rouge scared you then this is a very nice alternative. I think it's a bit much for daywear but lovely for the evening.
Good longevity and sillage.

This smell is like some Chinese place or Chinese department store in Kunmimng....It's remind me when I had studied in china.

genny17

That one smells great ! It is like a smooth pretty jasmine, with a yellow undertone...if I find a 20 ml, I will buy it..great quality too..it reminds me of a Kilian perfume, not sure which one..it isn't like extremely unique, yet, it smells utterly feminine, and floral without being too floral!? It has something of Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge , but I like the Malone better..it isn't so high pitched, and overall more rounded..I personally think it is far superior to Gucci Bloom, ..longevity is nice too..just don't want to shell the money for it now!!

gillbert

Jasmine Sambac is covering all the scent from top to the bottom, deep and rich Jasmine Sambac with little touch of creaminess and sweetness, it is not obviously sweet and typical young feminine fragrance, I can feel the sexiness and mature sexy floral here. Some reviewers said, it almost similar to Gucci Bloom EDP. I make the comparison side by side, and I say yes, they are bit close to each other, but again, it is not 100% similar, Gucci Bloom is sweeter than JM

I was searching for a nice marigold fragrance for so long. Mission accomplished. I´ve got you, babe. Aromatic & honey-sweet marigold, light & airy jasmine undertone & warm /like melted in the sun/ resins. This scent is somehow optimistic & youthful, genuinely pleasant & inoffensive - but remarkable & unforgettable. Thank you, ladies!

Michelle12345678

Clean jasmine with a slight bit of sweetness. When you get to the part where it is a skin scent, it smells like vanilla-jasmine, due to the benzoin. It's a pleasant and pretty jasmine perfume.

KitKat

This one is incredible. one of the best jo malones ever. It was a blind buy and I am mesmerized by it. goes into my top 5 JM. Rich, luxurious, great silage and longevity. if you like jasmine you must get this

mutintabailey

I bought this last week, it reminds me of Kai but with a additional jasmine and ylang-ylang beautiful, and night time perfume!
The perfume does not project great but all the same beautiful!

xsweetwifeyx

By far my favorite in the intense series! I completely agree with the reviewer below. I hope this is not a limited edition or they do not discontinue this. The most beautiful Jasmine scent! Reminds me of my birth country’s national flower (Sampaguita) in the Philippines or Jasmine Sambac. I love love love this fragrance! Long lasting and moderate sillage.

jayssen

A beautiful, very pure Jasmine perfume. The dry down does have a hint of sweetness from other florals, but by and large, it is jasmine all the way. I suppose you could combine this with other perfumes from Jo Malone (ie - their fragrance combining) - but honestly, don't spoil the rapturously glorious jasmine.

Very good strength and sillage.

Elokins

I love this perfume! On me, jasmine is very predominant with a hint of sweetness, it makes me feel delicate and sophisticated. Also, very long lasting with an arms length sillage.

M.Golightly

I love sambac Jasmine because it reflects my S.E. Asian culture so I was eager to try this new Jo Malone intense fragrance and I have a few Jo Malone fragrance too. I was not impressed with this new intense fragrance. This for me is more of a 'sweet' marigold/amber and I was expecting a sexy bold sambac Jasmine-Ylang-Ylang scent.

Friendly but not a sexy fragrance.

Ioli19

This is beautiful! A stunning jasmine accompanied by marigold ( didn’t think those 2 notes would marry so well! They are a great pair it turns out!!) but there’s an orchestra behind those two..vanilla, ylang ylang, amber.. it’s rich and lush, and yes!..it’s intense! It is a gorgeous floral, not sweet, with a presence, people notice it. Moderate sillage ( maybe on the heavier side of moderate for the first hour), long lasting, and the intense series comes now in 50 or 100 ml, which is a great move !
