Boxwood is the perfect shrub to grow for topiary and formal hedging. For a more relaxed feeling, try planting golden variegated Korean boxwood. The brilliant lime colored foliage is highlighted with an even brighter yellow at the margins, allowing this shrub to shine no matter where it is planted in the garden. The very slow growth habit makes for less pruning and clipping, which means far less maintenance than other types of boxwood shrubs.
Buxus sinica ‘Sunburst’ is a true broadleaf evergreen that looks great in the garden year-round. It even attracts beneficial pollinators when its insignificant flowers are in bloom early in the summer. Gardeners in USDA growing zones 5-9 can use this hardy and deer-resistant shrub as part of a low-growing informal or clipped hedge or mixed bed of shrubs and perennials. Try growing it in a container on the front step, patio, or deck, where the dainty and decorative foliage can be seen close up. Korean boxwood is highly tolerant of urban conditions such as poor soil and heavy air pollution, making it good for planting along sidewalks and driveways or near heavy traffic areas such as shopping centers or parking lots.
Golden Variegated Korean Boxwood Care
Korean boxwoods will grow well in full sun to part shade, although they appreciate protection from the hottest part of the day in warmer climates. This boxwood will adapt to a variety of soil types as long as the pH is neutral to alkaline. Keep the soil evenly moist for best performance. Boxwood does not tolerate periods of drought or very hot temperatures. Mulching with an organic material such as compost, finely shredded arborist chips, or leaves will help retain moisture and suppress annual weeds. Fertilize once in the early spring with an all-purpose, slow-release, granular formula.
The slow growth habit of Korean boxwood makes it one of the more low-maintenance shrubs. The branching and foliage growth is less dense than other types of boxwood, giving it a more relaxed look while allowing for much more air circulation through the middle of the plant. Pruning is only needed in late winter to remove damaged branches or keep the shrub to size.

The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.
The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.
Winter to Early Spring
We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.
Summer
If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.
Fall into Winter
We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!
