There was a feeling that I really wanted to depict in this image. I collected elements and combined them to create this composition. Then I worked with Levels to tweak this image and to create a sense of depth.

Dawid’s created a strong identity in his artwork, and has garnered over 6,000 followers on Instagram. We love the colourless, moody atmosphere in his artwork, and this one is particularly haunting.
Steve has been featured by Behance 11 times, and this is one of our favourite pieces he’s created. Not only is it really imaginative, the lighting and shade is beautiful; a great feat considering Steve’s “as flat as possible” goal.

This image was created for an Indian tyre company. The idea was to show a journey through Ladakh. I wanted to keep the image as flat as possible, so no textures and a very simple, basic, clean brush. It was a nice restriction to have.

This was one of a series of photos that I made on the streets of New York, shot with a Canon Mark III with a 50mm 1.4 lens. They were edited in Photoshop, where the neon colours were really brought to the fore.
This is a really pretty example of geometric illustration. Valentyn specialises in these vibrant, modern pieces, and with 200,000 views online, his work has reached a huge audience. From the colouring around individual strands of hair to the focus on the subject, this is an expertly executed and edited photo; Mikeila is a Lightroom-showcased photographer online and this is a stunning example of her work.

This was my entry for a competition called #ChallengeYourPerspective online. I duplicated the image several times to create a new landscape and had great fun with brushes painting hair and make up.

Impact “This has a double meaning; partly the impact of the environment, of what we do as well as the physical impact of something, so I wanted to play with this. Even though this guy looks quite surprised and doesn’t expect this to happen, he’s still somehow the cause of it; he broke through it, somehow like ice. Bad luck was something I thought about too, with the broken mirrors. I hope I don’t get that bad luck though! So far, so good.”
Surrealer than fiction From photographing his family to fine art, we speak to Erik Johansson about his incredible journey and his favourite Photoshop tools
I
haven’t been to the event before, so I’m excited to come,” says Erik Johansson, ahead of March’s The Photography Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. “Usually if I come someplace new, I try and travel around a bit, see if maybe I can even make something around there.” Let’s hope he gets the chance, because special things happen when Erik explores a landscape with his camera. His work often blends surreal photography with social or economic commentary; sometimes it’s hard-hitting, and other times it’s downright silly. Whatever the impact, he’s found his way into galleries and museums, and soon Erik will be penning a book about this work. For someone who centres his work in the surreal, it’s also a fitting way to describe Erik’s progression from messing around in Photoshop to entering the fine-art world.
