Audio component manufacturer Linn Products has reported a 17 per cent increase in annual sales to £19.1 million as it benefited from new product launches.

The company, which has its manufacturing base in Eaglesham, reports pre-tax profits more than doubled on last year to £1.69 million, (2013: £755,000) though Linn has spent much of the 2013 year gearing up to launch new products.

Linn said it invested £1.92 million in the year to June 30 in research and development, down from £2.23 million the prior year.

Linn said investment during the year went into further developing its new audio technology, Exakt, which was launched in September last year to mark the company's 40th year of trading.

Exakt is Linn's latest audio technology utilising full studio master recordings which cuts noise and distortion and interference which exist in the traditional analogue hi-fi chain.

Linn says its Exakt technology turns the loudspeaker into an intelligent, connected, software-upgradeable product which can be optimised to suit any home.

The company's R&D spend for the year also included ongoing development of its suite of hi-fi, home theatre and multi-room products.

In full year accounts now filed with Companies House, Linn notes sales growth in all of the markets in which it operates.
