Almost anyone who has gone through a divorce will attest that it is a painful, exhausting experience - but, ultimately, the right decision.

However some people do not agree - insisting their divorce was a mistake, but one it's too late to take back.

Dozens of people have taken to secret-sharing site Whisper to confess that they should never have split from their spouse - and revealing the reasons they regret their decision.

One man laments not realising soon enough that it wasn't his wife he was unhappy with, but himself - while one ex-wife insists she misses her marriage, because 'being single is so hard'. 

From the woman who believes she should have stayed married for the sake of her daughter, to the one who insists she'll 'never be happy again' after her divorce, the reasons vary - but all are heartbreaking.
