On Monday, businessman Victor Font announced his intention to run for the presidency at Barcelona, with elections likely to be held in 2021.

Under the slogan Yes To The Future, he hopes to be the man to take over from Josep Maria Bartomeu.

After choosing not to take part in 2015, the Catalan has decided that now is the ideal time for him to run for the top job at the Camp Nou.

His manifesto is based on four basic aims: 'we win, we compete, we decide and we are unique'.

Under these concepts, he has developed his ideas for the running of the club in the future, without forgetting the importance of modern technology in the current era too.

"It is a project that requires imagination and looking at how Barcelona will be in 2030 when [Lionel] Messi and the best generation in the club's history are no longer playing," he wrote.

"To be able to compete at that time, we need to renew things and prepare to face the challenges that come in a sporting, social and economic sense."

That is why Font wants the current Barcelona stars to move into boardroom and behind the scenes role when they finally hang up their boots and lead the decision making at the club. One thing he does want to change though is redefining the model of governance.

Font was born in Granollers in 1972 and is the co-founder and general manager of the multinational company Delta Partners, which specialises in strategic consulting services, corporate finance and investments related to telecommunications, media and digital.
