Megan Fox Slammed As A ‘Stupid, Pretty Lady’ For Her Controversial Halloween Costume

Fans and celebrities alike are furious with Megan Fox, who not only deliberately broke SAG-AFTRA’s strike guidelines by dressing up as a character from a struck movie, but also rubbed it in their faces by tagging them in her Instagram post. The actor attended the annual Casamigos Halloween bash with her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, dressed as Gogo Yubari and Beatrix Kiddo, respectively, from the 2003 film Kill Bill, amid fans and other actors calling her “defiant” and “stupid.”

In one of the slides, she tagged SAG-AFTRA, a labor union consisting of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, after they specifically told actors not to post in costumes inspired by struck content. SAG-AFTRA issues strike guidelines over Halloween costumes

On Oct. 18th, SAG-AFTRA released a statement with guidelines banning actors from dressing up as characters from struck TV shows and movies. “Choose costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures (ghost, zombie, spider, etc.),” the statement reads. They also instructed actors not to “post photos of costumes inspired by struck content on social media.”

Megan Fox posted a carousel of six photos on Sunday, all featuring her Gogo Yubari costume. The model paired a pleated gray, white, and black plaid mini-skirt with a fitted blue blazer, a bright red bow around her neck, knee-high white socks, and white platform heels. She also added fake blood dripping from her eyes down her cheeks. Machine Gun Kelly joined her for the Casamigos event, dressed in all yellow as Beatrix Kiddo. Megan captioned the photos with just one tag: @sagaftra.

Neither fans nor other actors were happy with Megan Fox and her Halloween costume. Lisa Ann Walter or Abbott Elementary took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say, "What a rebel. Keep posturing for stupid s***, pretty lady. Meanwhile we'll be working 10 hours a day—unpaid—to get basic contract earners a fair deal."

Fans agreed with her, commenting on Megan’s Instagram photo, "Didn't SAG-AFTRA ask its members to NOT dress as movie characters?"

Another user asked, "Why is she being defiant to a group that's literally fighting for her to make a fair wage?" while a third user commented, "Yes girl give it to your union trying to get better wages and benefits for lesser known people than u!"

However, other actors have sided with Fox, like Melissa Gilbert, the former president of the Screen Actors Guild, who called the guidelines "infantile." Mandy Moore shared her sentiment, posting on X, "Is this a joke? Come on @sagaftra. This is what’s important?"

She continued, "We're asking you to negotiate in good faith on our behalf. So many folks across every aspect of this industry have been sacrificing mightily for months. Get back to the table and get a fair deal so everyone can get back to work. Please and thank you."
