Nearly 12 years after it first launched, seminal online world Ultima Online is still being updated. Publisher Electronic Arts has just officially unveiled Stygian Abyss, the game's eighth expansion.
The expansion, which will see release this summer, introduces the playable Gargoyle race to the game, as well as the titular "Stygian Abyss," which EA's official announcement characterizes as "the largest dungeon area ever introduced to Ultima Online."
Despite including an image portraying boxart for the expansion, EA says the game will only be available via digital distribution on launch. No price has been set for the add-on, though hopefully the decision to avoid the costs of shipping and packaging trickle down to gamers in the form of savings.
