Description

Often found in open fields where soil is frequently disturbed by livestock.

Flowers

The flower spikes are borne on ridged stalks. Flowers are brown with pale yellow anthersupper fertile part of the stamen containing the pollen.

Leaves

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Basal rosette, linear to long, pointed, upright, 3-5 parallel veins, ribbed, with stalks.

Capsule: containing numerous small, oval seeds.
