Green Day coming to Charlotte on 'The Saviors Tour'

The tour is celebrating 30 years of the album "Dookie" and 20 years of the album "American Idiot."

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Green Day is trading the Boulevard of Broken Dreams for a tour route next year, and the band is stopping in Charlotte.

"It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for," the band said in an Instagram post on Thursday.

When they come around to Charlotte, they'll be playing at PNC Music Pavilion on Monday, Aug. 26. They'll be performing with openers Rancid and The Linda Lindas.
