ALICE DELLAL'S famous, punk undercut hairstyle was inspired by her sister, footwear designer and VOGUE.COM contributor Charlotte.

"Charlotte actually suggested I have it done," she tells us. "My brother and my Dad always used to shave their hair and I remember thinking 'Why can't I do the same?' It's kind of ironic that it was my sister's idea, but I would give her total credit for it. The style's becoming more normal though - I see quite a few girls with similar hair now."

Alice - who is known for her punk-grunge look and for fronting her all-girl rock band, Thrush Metal - says that as a child she looked more to her father for fashion inspiration - rather than to the more glamorous style of her older sister and mother, Andrea.

"When I was little I was such a tomboy - I loved a baggy T-shirt and leggings," she says. "Charlotte's always been very stylish - she used to dress me when I was really young. We'd look identical, but we're so different. She'd be reading Agatha Christie and I, well I, wasn't. I was always more attracted to what my Dad was wearing. Charlotte and Mum are much more similar. Charlotte would get Mum's hand-me-downs, then I'd get them after she was done with them. If I'm feeling a bit glamorous though, I love wearing a pair of her shoes."

Talking at a ck one music event last night, held in conjunction with MTV and hosted by Lara Stone, the singer and model says her style influences are more varied than you might think.

"I was always into punk, ever since I was 13, but I was into other stuff too - like, well, the Spice Girls," reveals Dellal. "I really liked Scary Spice."

Dellal currently features in ck one's debut lifestyle collection, which shows a group of models, musicians, actors and sports stars known for their individuality dancing inside a mirrored box (read more about it here).

"It was really fun," she says of the photoshoot. "I knew Pixie [Geldof, who also features in the campaign], from before. Lara's really good too - sickeningly beautiful. Modelling's not something I want to do just on its own, but I always want it to be a part of my life."
