The veteran striker moved to Amiens in a shock transfer last week after leaving League One Reading.

Carroll, 34, played in his first match on Saturday, coming on for the final 24 minutes as his new team beat Guingamp 4-1.

In addition to attending the match, the happy couple and their kids explored the town centre.

And they'll have been thrilled to discover that Amiens had a medieval festival on yesterday.

Carroll and Billi's arrival in the city happened to coincide with the 30th annual "Medievales au Bord de l'Eau".

The city's Somme river was surrounded by revellers wearing medieval gear.

People wore medieval-style suits of armour.

While others held swords and shields.

With plenty of locals watching on, rivals even attempted to knock each other off their respective boats as part of the festivities.

After their brilliant weekend, Billi shared a series of snaps to her Instagram account.

One featured her and Carroll beaming as they posed for a snap together in the city centre.

While others featured the kids lighting candles.

The children also posed for a picture in a local church.

While they watched festivities on the river Somme from a bridge overlooking the action.

The thrilled kids also rode on a carousel.

Carroll has two children from a previous relationship; Emilie Rose, 13, and Lucas, 12.

He and Billi have had a further three kids together; Arlo, eight, Wolf, five, and Marvel, two.
