Demi Lovato is once again getting candid with her fans about her sobriety journey.

The singer-songwriter shared a powerful message via her Instagram Stories on Friday, March 15, noting that she would have been celebrating seven years of sobriety this weekend. “I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes but I must never forget that’s exactly what they were: mistakes,” she wrote.

In the next photo, Demi remarked that she was “grateful” to both Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) for never shutting the door “no matter how many times you have to start...over.” The singer added that she didn’t lose the six years she worked towards sobriety, noting that that experience will always be a part of her. “Now I just get to add to that time with a new journey and time count,” she explained.

Demi finished her post with an important reminder to her fans. “If you’ve relapsed and are afraid to get help again, just know it’s possible to take that step towards recovery. If you’re alive today, you can make it back. You’re worth it.”

As always, Demi’s fans have her back. The general sentiment reflected on social media? “I’m so proud of you.”

This post is just the latest example of Demi sharing her sobriety journey with her fans. Back in January, the singer-songwriter discussed celebrating six months of sobriety after being hospitalized from an apparent overdose in July 2018. Following her overdose, Demi received treatment at a rehabilitation center. Since then, Demi has been taking time to focus on herself and her health, and she hasn’t been shy about calling out tabloids falsely reporting on her recovery. “I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to,” Demi wrote in a now-deleted tweet from December 2018. “All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.”
