Disney stans who fell in love with Rapunzel and Eugene (AKA Flynn) in Tangled were psyched to learn that the hit Disney princess movie was getting a spinoff TV series on the Disney Channel called  Tangled: Before Ever After that picks up right after Tangled and sounds like it's going to be amazing!

But new art from the series has just been released and Rapunzel is getting a major new look, and not in the way you'd think.

First of all, somehow she's going to have her long blonde hair despite the fact that it was chopped off and turned brown at the end of  Tangled (hopefully this will be explained in the premiere for continuity's sake).

But even more major: the animation style of the series is going to be completely different.  Tangled was animated using CGI, but the TV series will have a traditional, 2D animation look.  Check out the first pic!

WOAH. Not what you expected, right?

But despite the the difference, it's still amazing how the art still captures Rapunzel and friends perfectly — she's still the same princess we know and love! Plus, Rapunzel and Eugene's original voice actors, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, are returning so not everything will feel brand new.

Sadly, the show's not hitting your screen until 2017, so you're going to have to wait a bit. But based on this artwork, it'll be worth the wait!
