Have you looked around and noticed that more and more men are losing at least 50 percent of their hair around the sides and the bottom? No worries, they aren’t balding, they’re simply becoming accustomed to the new trend: undercut hairstyles.

Though many people view this style as the No. 1 “hipster” look for this generation, the undercut hairstyle first made its appearance around World War II.

It was originally worn by many of the German Nazis and was formally known as the “SS haircut,” but today it has become an instant trend known as a “fade” or “undercut.”

From celebrities such as Adam Lambert to the boy in math class, every male seems to be catching on to the trendy style, whether he knows of its history or not.

Most people are changing to the undercut based on their celebrity role models or because the rest of their friends are getting it. This bandwagon is filling fast.

There are many ways to style and sport this look: Slick it back for a clean and classy look; grow out the front and swoop it forward or to the side for a neat and preppy style; or ruffle it up with some mousse or gel to get that carefree, rebel look.

However you plan to style it, you’ll fit right in to the hip new trend that is taking the world by storm.
