It's time for the mortar boards and gowns...and all of the commencement activities! Graduations are so special and really mark the end of a lot of hard work...so celebrating is certainly in order. These simple free printable graduation gift tags are easy to attach to all of your gifts this season (and budget-friendly...especially if you're giving a lot of gifts out!).
Free Printable Graduation Gift Tags
Graduation season has always been a big deal in our house. My husband has been a high school principal for 13 years and it's just a festive time of the year. Not only is the "big day" a lot of fun, he tends to have lots of sweet students invite him to their family's festivities surrounding their graduations. We try to give small gifts to those who send those invites along...which can add up. One way to keep them all budget-friendly is by using gift tags on the wrapping. They look super cute and thoughtful, but are easy on the pocketbook.
PRINTING AND USING YOUR GIFT TAGS

- These printable tags are for personal use. If you do own your own small business and would like to carry or use the printed versions of the tags for marketing or resell (no digital redistribution is allowed), you can purchase a commercial license here.
- These tags print six to a letter-sized page.
- Be sure to print your tags onto cardstock paper. Regular paper will be too thin for a gift tag. After cut, it will curl up on the ends, or worse, get itself all wrinkly and sloppy. Always stick with cardstock.
- After printing, cut your gift tags out just inside the hairline grey border provided.
- Scissors always work great, but I really enjoy using my Fiskars Paper Trimmer (pictured above) to get really straight lines when cutting tags and cards. You can grab this same trimmer here on Amazon.
- Don't forget to include a sweet, hand-written message on the bottom of each tag.
- Using a smaller, 1/8" hole punch is a nice way to make the hole a bit understated. This also provides a more secure spot (less prone to tearing) for attaching ribbon or twine.
- String ribbon or twine through your hole and attach to your gift.
- I used black and white Baker's Twine from Amazon here for my tags.
As you can see above, these grad tags have a light watercolor gold confetti as a background. And the watercolor mortar board is the star of the show.
