Whoa, mama.

Anna Faris, one of the two title stars of “Mom,” has left the CBS sitcom ahead of its eighth season, Deadline reported Friday.

The move leaves Oscar and Emmy winner Allison Janney as the sole title star.

The two are currently in the midst of two-year contracts signed last year, which followed lengthy negotiations and assured a two-year renewal through the eighth season.

The “Unqualified” podcaster’s exit was reportedly finalized not long after the Chuck Lorre series went into hiatus, which began in March amid the coronavirus pandemic. At the time, there was just one episode left to shoot for the comedy’s seventh season.

The show centers on the relationship between Christy, a recently sober single mom, and her formerly estranged mother Bonnie (Janney), who also contended with addiction, as the two try to navigate sobriety and their own bond.

The newest season, slated to begin production Sept. 14, does not include Faris’ character but will address her absence.

“The past seven years on ‘Mom’ have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,” said Faris, 43, who has scored several People’s Choice Award nominations for her role. “I’m so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

The role marked the “Just Friends” actress’ first full-time role on a TV show.

In a statement, WBTV, CBS and Chuck Lorre Prods. said Faris had always been “the first and only choice for the role of Christy.

“We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us,” the statement continued. “We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal.”
