Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

A Jumble of House sized boulders, and larger, resting against the base of the southeastern flank of Quail Mountain.

Getting There

Park in Cap Rock parking area. Walk directly West about a mile or so, to the Southwestern edge of Quail Mountain. From the highway, you can see the Thoroughly Distant Rocks against the distant hillside to the West.
