Gatefold Card

Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday To You!

Today I want to share with you a Gatefold Card, so easy and fun to make.

This is one of my favorite cards to make, because it looks complicated but is rather easy. It is a standard A2 size card, so it also fits in regular envelopes.

Here is a closer look at the front of the card:

I used the Blessings Stamp Set, this is such a nice, clean and peaceful set, one of my favorites. Great for a guy or a gal. I used the leaves from the stamp set to create my own background paper.

The How To For This Card:

Supplies:

Brown Cardstock: 8.5 x 5.5 score each end at 2 1/8 (for card base) 1 at 2.5 x 2.5 (for card front layer)

White Cardstock: 1 at 4 x 5.25 (for inside) 2 at 1 7/8 x 5.25 (for front panels) 1 at 2.25 x 2.25 (for front greeting)

~~Place three leaves on an acrylic block, facing different directions. Starting with the two front panels, I used brown ink to stamp the leaves all over. I also stamped the bottom of the 4 x 5.25 piece of white cardstock at the bottom, to carry the pattern to the inside of the card.

~~Adhere these pieces to the card.

~~For the greeting, I used the Misti Stamping Tool to align the stamp in the center (on a diagonal), stamped with the same brown ink. Place foam squares on the backside of this piece. Take the brown 2.5 x 2.5 cardstock, apply glue (I used Art Glitter Glue) to one half. Adhere to the left panel on a diagonal, lining up the points with the edge of the panel. Adhere the stamped image with greeting on top of that! Wala, your fabulous gate fold card is now finished.

You can find the full video tutorial here!

~~Tips~~ Use whatever color cardstock or patterened paper you like. You can stamp the same leaves in black ink and color them in with markers to make the card be more colorful. You can also change the size of the image for the front of the card, to fit whatever image or greeting you would like.

Thank you for this tutorial. This would make a wonderful Thanksgiving card (maybe that’s what you made it for) as well as an encouragement card.

Great card Stacy. That type card is one I grab when I need a card in a hurry. You’re right. It goes together quickly and yet looks elegant. I just ordered that stamp set today and now I see a way to use it for those who are in nursing homes, assisted living and ones that are unable to leave home very much. And it looks like a great card for men. Your tutorial was very well presented. I am hearing impaired and I understood and followed every word. I am thinking that I need to make up the card components and have them ready to go. I needed a sympathy card yesterday and a new baby card and of course my mind was blank.. Here comes a note to the bulletin board.
