Herculaneum

The ancient city of Herculaneum has an incredible archaeological and historical heritage: the great Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, recently expanded after new excavations, has nothing to envy from the nearby excavations of Pompeii, of which it represents a continuation, being two ancient cities of the Roman Empire, both buried after the eruption of 79 A.D. As for the excavations in Pompeii, the archaeological site is also worth a visit for a few hours.

If you are in Herculaneum, it is also worth paying a visit to Campolieto, a noble residence dating back to the 1700s, and the ‘MAV’, the Virtual Archaeological Museum.
