𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵! 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 Stephan Wrage, founder and CEO of SkySails Group, believes that tackling climate change is the most urgent task of our time. For over 20 years, he and his team have dedicated themselves to this mission. Their vision? To keep our world liveable through airborne wind energy. To realise this vision, SkySails has developed a unique system that uses a flying kite to capture the so-called high-altitude wind and converts it into energy. Airborne wind bears the worldwide largest untapped energy potential to date, and as a pioneer in this technology, SkySails is the only company with a proof of product on the market. The company’s solution has the potential to replace fossil fuels and reduce material consumption by 90 percent compared to other technologies. The system offers faster and cheaper production, transport, and installation. With 24/7 power generation and over 80 patents in 13 countries, SkySails' kite systems are flexible, hurricane-proof, and operational worldwide. Already in use in Klixbüll and Mauritius, SkySails works on further airborne wind energy projects worldwide. Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) has also just been included in the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG), reducing administrative barriers and determining a fixed feed-in tariff. These new developments do not only acknowledge the potential of airborne wind for the energy transition, but accelerate research and development and enhance investment security. Stephan Wrage and his team aspire to lead the airborne wind energy market, actively combating climate change. Their goal is to make SkySails' vision a reality, creating a better, more sustainable world for all. #Hamburg #InnovatorOfTheMonth #greentechnology #windenergy #renewablerevolution #SkySails

Chief Executive Officer at NOVIGE AB, Sweden's Mission Innovation Champion, Innovator of the Year, Winner of Propeller Prize - Stena Line, Winner of Startup4Climate, Seal of Excellence European Commission
As to Ingemar Rentzhog's request about sharing ones journey in contribution to "Saving the Climate", here it comes: Being an ex airline captain, having learned more about the oncoming climate change, and watching the fuel gauges sink when flying across the Atlantic and to Asia, it motivated me to do something else. Instead of continue to burn 40 000 liters on a flight, I resigned and started to develop NoviOcean over the last eight years. Harder and longer days, more demanding, half the pay, but so much more meaningful 💪 Now we are looking for €12 million to be able to get our first 1 MW Hybrid Wave, Wind & Solar Energy Converter in the water while there is still time. According to the Swiss bank Lombard Odier, between now and 2050, we will transition from 20% economy-wide electrification to 70%, creating one of the greatest opportunities for investors in the history of capitalism. For potential Partners, and Philanthropists, who strongly believe We Don't Have Time to Save the Climate, the ones with enough guts, who want to proudly be coming onboard with media, VIP´s, politicians, and royals in less than two years, to hear the Pelton turbine spinning wildly, see the wind turbines rotate, while the sun powers the PV's, most welcome to contact me. We have the numbers!! PS: Sounds expensive? Our TRL 7 journey costs 1/4'th of what our nearest competitors have burned for the development, while giving 3-5 x the output. A factor of at least 12 x. That what one should call value for money! https://noviocean.energy/ #Philanthropists #climatechange #renewableenergy #windpower

We had one of the most lively fire chats during #CARILEC (CEOs conference). Our colleagues MONICA LUPIAÑEZ and Roberto Herrera, MBE from #InterEnergy shared the floor with Tganni Louisy and myself (Wärtsilä ) Our moderator Roberto Lares Lleras posted very provocative questions for example: "Why after so much effort many countries are stuck in the path to Net Zero?" .... Ah well, to reach NetZero is not about having a Plan to just add renewables but instead is about having a "Decarbonization Plan" ... two very different things. A proper high resolution power system modeling is key to first identify the optimal capacity expansion and then draft the decarbonization plan to achieve the target. Integrating renewable energy with flexible firm capacity which will utilize sustainable fuels when available and energy storage paired with a sophisticated management system lead to a decarbonization path.

🌊 Harnessing the Power of Waves for a Sustainable Future 🌊 I am thrilled to share my excitement about wave energy, a remarkable source of renewable power that has the potential to revolutionize our energy landscape. 🌍💡 Wave energy technology taps into the immense power of ocean waves, converting it into clean electricity. With its predictable nature and high energy density, wave energy offers a reliable and sustainable solution to meet our growing energy demands while reducing carbon emissions. 🌬️⚡ We can profit much by embracing wave energy. It creates new possibilities for economic expansion and employment development while promoting creativity and advancing technology. Additionally, it aids in energy portfolio diversification, which lessens our dependency on fossil fuels and promotes a more environmentally friendly future.🌱🔌 Despite obstacles to be solved, such as advancing technology and reducing environmental effect, the wave energy sector is making remarkable progress. Greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness are being achieved thanks to research, development, and pilot initiatives. 🚀 Let's help wave energy development as industry professionals in the energy sector. To maximize the potential of this extraordinary resource, collaboration between academia, business, and policymakers is essential. We can create a sustainable energy future that benefits the world and upcoming generations by working together. 💪🌊 #WaveEnergy #RenewableEnergy #CleanPower #Sustainability #Innovation #greenfuture

GE Vernova Speaks at the World Changing Ideas Summit. Otmane Benamar, CTO EMEA of GE Vernova's Gas Power took part in a panel focused on #Sustainable mobility at the recently held #WorldChangingIdeasSummit organized by Fast Company Middle East in #Dubai. He explained the pivotal role of stakeholders in driving effective climate action. Otmane Benamar set the stage by addressing the pressing concern of #CarbonEmissions. He noted that the journey to #NetZero in mobility relies on the transformative power of electrification. Otmane Benamar discussed the pursuit of the #EnergyTrilemma, encapsulating the delicate balance between affordability, reliability, and #sustainability that stakeholders must navigate. Especially when you think of the 800 million people in the world who still lack access to reliable #power, coupled with many economies hungry for the power to grow. This trilemma requires careful management across all major sectors, including the #transportation sector. He emphasized the importance of a thoughtful approach to the transition to #RenewableEnergy and recognizing the operational lifespan of existing assets amounting to billions. He cautions against an abrupt shift citing potential increases in electricity costs and disruptions to #GridStability. In addition to a host of #PowerGeneration technologies, #GEVernova also provides essential solutions for electrification that deliver electricity to #EV charging stations. To electrify the economy, including mobility, we provide robust, resilient, reliable, and efficient transmission and distribution systems, as well as future-ready grid management solutions.
