Altered bill

JONESVILLE POLICE say $10 bills that were turned into $100 bills have images of Alexander Hamilton, the nation's first secretary of the treasury, rather than Benjamin Franklin's image on the right sides of the bills. Hamilton's face is on $10 bills.

The Jonesville Police Department is warning merchants and others to look out for bogus $100 bills.

Your story could use some corrections:

"The advisory says that when one of the bogus $100 bills is held up to a light, the face seen at far right is the wrong face (The Watermark) . It should be Benjamin Franklin's face, but instead it's Alexander Hamilton's. Also, the (Security thread) should say $100 but it says $10."

check out the https://www.uscurrency.gov/ they have information to help educate the public about what the US currency should really look like to help keep you from accepting a fake bill by mistake.

More info on the older style $100 bills (similar to fakes being circulated) https://www.uscurrency.gov/denominations/100#1996
