Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual launched in India at Rs 25,990

Sony has launched Xperia T2 Ultra Dual in India. The Japanese tech major calls it a a next evolution large-screen smartphone design as the device comes with a 6-inch HD Triluminos display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2 having a resolution of 720x1280 pixels.

The handset will start selling at all Sony Centers, Xperia Flagship stores and major electronic stores across India for Rs 25,990 starting from March 20, 2014.

The Dual-SIM handset runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and is powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra comes with a 13-megapixel rear and 1.1-megapixel front cameras. It has a 3000mAh battery with Stamina mode.

In a press release, Sony claimed, "designed specifically with customers from emerging markets in China, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific in mind, Xperia T2 Ultra brings together the best of Sony's imaging and display technologies with ground-breaking design efficiency to produce a stunning Android smartphone at a mid-range price point."

The Xperia T2 Ultra's stunning 6 (15.24cm) HD IPS TRILUMINOS display extends to within 2.5 mm of the phone's edges. This means that it has a screen to phone size ratio of 73.6%, both making the most of the space available and ensuring that the phone is no wider than a standard credit card. It is also both slim (7.6 mm) and light, fitting easily in a jacket pocket, the press release said.

The Xperia T2 Ultra Dual offers a new experience through the incorporation of Sony's latest generation of dual SIM mobile technology. Users can set up both SIM cards independently with custom ring tones and one-touch switching between SIMs before making calls or sending texts. Sony's dual SIM management technology means that users can keep both SIMs active, never missing a call, even whilst talking on one of them.
