I lost the battle to keep Cannon Hunt out of my movie.
But when he sets his sights on my heart...it means war.

Cannon Hunt's perfect face and dark, take-me-now eyes have launched a thousand movies. He's the king of Hollywood romcoms. He's America's heartthrob.

And he's going to ruin my movie.

I'm making a gritty war film, so the last person I need on set is a man who's been typecast as every famous actress's love interest.

I don't need him making my heart race every time our eyes meet.
I don't need the sound of his voice embedding into my dreams.
And I don't need his lips on mine.

Even if I could stand Cannon Hunt, he would be utterly forbidden. Falling for him would destroy my career.

So he can burn my skin with those eyes all he wants. He can whisper sweet, scorching nothings into my ear when he thinks nobody can see. He can tear down the walls I've built around my heart with his bare hands.

I'm not going down without a fight.

Quite frankly, I don't understand how the hell anyone could read this book and not want to snap the heroine's neck. She's incredibly annoying and anal about everything. But the anal part is fine to me. Her movie is her baby. I get that she wants everything to be perfect. There's that.

What annoyed me the most is that she's that type of girl who thinks she is so fucking special, so not like the other girls just because she's immune to hot guys and don't pursue them--which is a huge lie by the way.

Oh please. She caught feelings fast enough, the book was barely into a double digit page when she masturbated to the thought of the man. LMAO. OKAY. I would be okay with this if she simply not go through her "I'm not that kind of girl, I'm so different!!!" spiel.

She's also one of those girls who thinks she's too good for any male attention but gets pissy when the male takes her no, as no. The moment the guy leaves her alone, she starts to feel insecure which is pathetic as hell. She went thru the whole "I am a tease" route and then got annoyed when the guy didn't react the way she wanted.

Girl? What do you even want???

Juno is a director, poised to make or break her career in Hollywood. She has an amazing story to tell and she has the perfect actor picked to play the lead. Too bad the producer wants to go with a pretty boy know for his rom-com jobs, Cannon Hunt. She is cold as ice during his audition but that just gets Cannon's complete attention. Attraction to the director wasn't in Cannon's plan. He was only planning on continuing to work as an actor. But Juno intrigues him and he can't help but want to get closer. Juno is terrified to be attracted to Cannon, petrified that she will become a cliche and that her career will be over before it has begun. But Cannon is a dream come true, even if it was a dream that Juno didn't know she had. Unfortunately, fear can keep us from the things we want the most.

I went into Tall, Dark & Handsome completely blind which is something I only do with authors I really trust. Having read the last two releases by this author before diving into this one, I can say that I trust Amelia Wilde implicitly. I was so completely consumed by Juno and Cannon that is was a surprise at the end to see some familiar faces make an appearance. This was an amazing read, I didn't want it to end. The epilogue was everything I could have hoped for! If you haven't tried Amelia Wilde, please do so. Characters are everything in a story and these two are so vivid, I felt like I was watching it play out on a screen. 6 stars for Tall, Dark & Handsome!

Cannon Hunt is an actor and Juno Anderson is a director; a match made in Heaven, or at least Hollywood – or not. This is not the typical Hollywood actor hook up romance. It is so much more!! The interaction between Cannon and Juno is fun and captivating, and their chemistry is off the charts! But their journey is not without its ups and downs. Your heart will ache watching Juno struggle to accept Cannon into her life. You will feel their heartbreak when Juno makes the choices she does, but you will also feel such joy as you take this amazing ride with them.

This is an engaging tale from beginning to end. You should be prepared to settle in for the whole ride because once you start you will find it hard to put down. The narrative flows smoothly with interesting and well-developed characters. This story is fast paced and the passion is HOT! I highly recommend this very appealing read!!

Tall, Dark & Handsome is an intriguing novel, set up against the background of a film set giving slight insights on making a movie with all these cruel schedules, harsh shooting conditions and the hard business of viewing dailies and doing retakes of scenes.

The main characters, Juno and Cannon, are utterly authentic and endearing with their different point of views as how work has to be done…
I loved the seriousness of Juno as a counterpoint to Cannon’s playfulness…

It is a bittersweet romance about expectations in and of life, about trying to prove one’s worth and the realisation that only that matters what is in front of them and not what’s past and done!

Amelia Wilde has the rare talent to transport the feelings of the protagonists in a way that makes me experience those feelings myself too in all their powerful way!

Review I'm a sucker for Hollywood stories. I loved Before She Was Mine & After I Was His. This story is about filming the story of Dayton & Sonny. Cannon is a rom-com star chosen to play Dayton. Juno is the director. He is not who or what she wanted. She's an ice queen who learns maybe being human isn't so bad after all. He's sexy, clever, not used to not getting what he wants instantly, and he realizes he wants the ice queen. She is smart, talented, and so worried about what others might think. I love how Amelia writes their emotions. You see the trip from there to here. Loved it! Co-workers, foe to lover, opposites...steamy heat to love with a dash of drama. Well worth your time!

When Juno's persuaded (ahem, pretty much coerced) into casting Cannon Hunt on her new film, she's infuriated. She's the director and does not appreciate not being able to cast whom she wants, especially when the man she has to cast is as hot as Cannon - an infuriatingly charming hottie. Soon, though, it becomes clear they can't keep their hands off each other, and are sneaking around, enjoying a passionate affair. But, when their secret is exposed, will Juno turn back into the ice queen Cannon met during his audition or will she be able to have it all - her career AND the love she so wants?

I enjoyed Tall, Dark & Handsome, but I have to say that Juno drove me nuts. She was pretty bitchy, especially toward the end when she reacted so poorly and threw some pretty harsh words at Cannon. Honestly, she wasn't good enough for Cannon, and if I were him, her pitiful attempt at apologizing wouldn't have been good enough for me to give her a second chance. Cannon, though, he's awesome and really the reason for the 4 stars. I absolutely fell in love with him. I just wished that he had been paired with an equally awesome heroine. Aside from Juno, though, Tall, Dark & Handsome is par for the course for Amelia Wilde - sexy, well-paced and has a great story line.

Cannon Hunt is an actor who has starred in many romantic movies, which is opposite of what Juno likes to direct. Juno is a director in the film industry. She isn't at all impressed with Cannon. She tries really hard to resist this guy, but Cannon is quite irresistable.

Let me just say, Cannon wears his heart on his sleeve. He doesn't hide his feelings, who he is, and what obstacles he had to endure to get to where he is. I do have to say, Juno's character was really hard to connect with. She was quite frustrating, in which, why I understood how frustrated Cannon was at times. The author did a good job of her Juno's character in making me feel how frustrating Cannon was becoming with her. I don't want to give too much away, but how can there be an HEA if she/he doesn't redeem herself or himself right? This was my first book from this author and it won't be my last. The cover is gorgeous! I fell in love with Cannon's character fairly quickly. What a sweet guy.

I selected this book because I had read Amelia Wilde before and enjoyed what she had to offer. This book follows Juno, an up and coming director, and Cannon, a rom-com star who’s branching out into a military genre. The attraction between the 2 is mutual, but Juno is strict on her professionalism and focused on her movie. This book Has a good balance between professionalism and personal relationships and let’s you get to know the characters slowly as the plot thickens and twists. Good read!

Wow, just wow. I'm speechless and awestruck.

I've read a lot of books by this author, some I've loved more than others. This is definitely one of my favourites. It had everything, wonderful characters with real depth, plenty of angst, a dollop of steam and a some fantastic banter, all wrapped up in a story I didn't want to put down.

Going into the book I wasn't quite sure what to expect. At first it had quite a rom-com feel to it but as the story progressed we got more depth and emotion, along with a dollop of angst. The drama came in quite an unexpected form, I really wasn't expecting THAT to cause the issue.

I really liked both Juno and Cannon, I could really feel the chemistry between them and the connection they were forging. They both had less than stellar childhoods due to a lack of genuine love and care from their parents. As adults they have learnt to cope with this in different ways, in Juno's case it means building walls and keeping people out. There were some wonderful moments as Cannon 'toyed' with her to break down these barriers so she would let him in.

Cannon wasn't the arrogant movie god he first appeared and I really grew to love him, even when he was deliberately goading Juno. Despite a lot of sexual attraction the book is quite slow burn, though once the gloves (and the rest of their clothing) is off their is plenty of heated action to enjoy. I liked the role reversal of it being the woman who struggled to commit and the guy who was all in. Since this is written first person and from both POV's it was easy to connect to the H and h, as well as to believe in their emotions.

This is a fun but also full of feeling contemporary romance that I am only to happy to recommend. it is well written, the pace held my attention, the story flowed smoothly and it totally captured my heart.

I like that this story was about the making of a movie that was based on "true story" of a book previously written by Amelia. That was an interesting twist. I thought that this totally captured a budding romance between a star and his director. I could only imagine how that works out in real life. (We all know it happens all the time). This was fairly light read. There wasn't too much angst so no huge heart break in this one. I really enjoyed reading this. I look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next.

Hollywoods Pretty Boy meets the Ice Queen!
In a frustratingly unputdownable battle of hearts and minds romance, Juno is directing her first big movie about some of my favorite heroes from previous books - Dayton and Wes- is backed into a corner to cast Cannon a romantic comedy star.
She may think he is easy on the eyes. No matter, she's set on the fact he is not the right fit for the movie. This movie is everything to her; it cannot fail- she has one shot!
Cannon see's past the Ice Queen facade, and no matter how much she infuriates him, he is determined to prove her wrong- show her that he is the perfect man for the role, and maybe just maybe the right man to melt her heart.
GAH!
SO CONFLICTED!! WWWHHYYY! Ms. Wilde did me in!
I loved the narrative of this book! It felt like I was watching a movie, about them making a film. ( profound, I know )
I had a love/hate thing going one for Cannon and Juno, some chapters I wanted them to be together, some I'm screaming in my head WHY is this even a thing?! This woman is going to kill you with her freeze ray.. and then I remembered this is fiction! SIGH.
Again I was conflicted, as much as I could not get past my confusion for the two of them. The characters banter enamored me, loving their heated moments, and the dual P.O.V with tidbits of humor-laden internal dialogue helped me understand them both and the struggles they faced.
In the end, I had butterflies! I don't know how it happened- That tells me, Amelia Wilde is a wordsmithing unicorn! ( If this is not a thing it really should be! ) Making my staying up way past beauty resting hours sooo worth it!

Words can’t explain how much I loved this book. I didn’t want this book to end.
Amelia did a great job, the flow of the book was perfect from beginning to end.

Juno is the casting director of a war hero movie and this movie could breakthrough in her career. Just when Juno thought she has found the perfect actor to play Dayton, she gets told there is one more audition. Cannon Hunt the chic flick actor walks in with “The Smile.” Juno tried to fight her boss that Cannon wasn’t right for the part but in the end she gets overruled.

As the story develops you really get to know the characters. I fell in love with Cannon, his personality and drive to get to know Juno is what made me not want this book to end. “Cannon isn’t a passing thundershower. He is a hurricane.” Cannon was like a hurricane because every time he was around Juno, he left her with sometime she wouldn’t forget just how hurricanes leave us.

Juno at times frustrated me (in a good way). She kept pushing Cannon away and she wanted nothing to get in the way of her directing. She insists on this being the best movie. Once I learned why Juno was being the way she was, I fell in love with her character even more.

These are two characters that couldn’t be more opposite but they balanced themselves out. The story wasn’t fast paced but that is what made it great. As a reader we got to enjoy getting to know Juno and Cannon.

I can’t wait for more from Amelia Wilde.

Tall Dark & Handsome checked all the boxes to be a great book.

Cannon is a superstar Hollywood actor, a bad, bad, bad boy known for his portrayal of fluffy, rom-com heroes, until he meets Juno, the director of his next movie, a war biopic, who is an uptight ice queen who still somehow pushes ALL his buttons. Juno is seriously professional, on the brink of something great, and feels pressured by the film's backers to cast Cannon Hunt as the lead in her film, who is not even on her list of possible leads. She resists the smooth moves of playboy Cannon ... until she doesn't. Then, the real fun starts.
Both characters are well-written, the dialogue is snappy, and the sex scenes are, um, well, ALL THAT! And that the movie being shot is "based" on a previous book written by Amelia gives a completely new meaning to Based On A True Story! Their journey is not without some unexpected and surprising developments. Both Cannon and Juno face some hard choices and those decisions will totally break your heart. Juno has been burned in the past and fear is her driving emotion. Cannon is everything she didn't know she needed, but everything she won't chance. But Amelia glues together the pieces of my broken heart with that perfect epilogue.
I was so invested in this story that I was pleasantly surprised to get an update on Wes and Day from the author's Wounded Hearts series. You will fall in love with these characters. I did.

This is a brilliant, unique approach to continuing a series. This story is set around a film being made of the characters from the first book in the Wounded Hearts series, and as such, it brings familiar characters to life in a completely new way. But the focus of this story is on the romance between the director, Juno, who is desperate to prove herself, and the leading man, Cannon, who is trying to break out of his stereo-typed rom-com roles.

I loved Cannon's confidence, never crossing the line to arrogance, and I enjoyed how comfortable he was with taking things at whatever speed worked for Juno. I thought Juno's character was a bit too focused on the what-ifs and risks that never seemed to materialize, but those moments where she allowed herself to open up to Cannon were well worth all the surrounding drama. I thought the part where she's watching the dailies and is conflicted about watching Cannon and his leading lady was brilliantly done.

This love story also gives us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of a movie, making the reader feel right at home on the set. The HEA is simple and satisfying, and leaves just enough on the table for a possible return visit. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I was completely invested in Juno and Cannon's story from page one. Filmmaker Juno is entirely focused on the movie she's directing. It's her big break and she can't allow her attention to be diverted, no matter how attracted she is to leading man Cannon. For Cannon, this war film is a huge step away from the lighter rom-com fare he is used to doing. Confident and sure of himself, the audition itself shouldn't be a big deal but Juno's cool reaction isn't something he's used to. He's also smitten with her from the moment they meet. Getting her to give in to her own desires is a challenge, one that he takes on willingly but despite their steamy nights together, she's still holding back . Will Cannon be able to break down her walls and get her to admit her feelings? Can Juno overcome the insecurities and fear that threaten to drive away the man she's losing her heart to?

I loved these characters, even prickly Juno. There is smoking hot chemistry between Juno and Cannon. The writing is great. Something about this story and the characters really connected with me and it felt very genuine. I think this would actually make a great movie. I loved it.

In continuation with her Wounded Hearts Series, Amelia Wilde has given us a movie! Ok, not really. Juno Anderson is a director, set on making her first studio-backed debut film a success. She has the perfect actor chosen to play our hero Dayton (from Wounded Hearts book 1) but she gets outvoted and Cannon Hunt, the actor she absolutely didn't want for her movie is now the lead. She does not like Cannon at all. She is not nice to him at all and is a complete 'Ice Queen' to him. That doesn't stop Cannon. It actually attracts him to her even more. That is not what he wanted. He just wanted to make a movie that is not a rom-com for which he is known, but Juno starts taking over his thoughts. He will do anything to break through that icy exterior and knock down all the protective walls she has built around herself.

The banter between these two cracks you up because you soon learn they have 'inside jokes' that go throughout the book. It just makes you chuckle seeing it over and over and in the different context. I laughed, I cringed, I wanted to throw my phone across the room, but Amelia did such an amazing job that she put my heart back together at the end. I highly recommend this book and the previous books in the Wounded Hearts series.

Wow! What an amazing story. I loved how Amelia sucked us in with the premise of the movie, which wraps us around Dayton and Wes and how their time in the military shaped their lives. I loved Cannon and Juno together. The push and pull, the great banter, the snarky attitude Juno had towards him thinking he was only good enough for the pretty boy roles and just when you think you are on your way to greatness a wrench is thrown into your plans. Juno has no choice but to work with Cannon and all he wants is to prove her theory wrong . He’s sexy, hot and irresistible to many but can he break through all the walls Juno has up? Both have had less then stellar childhoods, each with issues and this film is her big moment and she won’t let anything or anyone stand in her way, but she didn’t see him coming. How long can she keep ignoring the feelings she has for Cannon and his for her? I guess you will need to grab this one to find out how it all plays out. If you haven’t read Before I Was His and After I Was His, you really should to learn more about Dayton and Wes and their amazing women! Highly recommend this book!

This book was different from what I expected from the last Amelia Wilde book that I read, however it was still just as great!

Cannon is an up and coming actor that knows he has what it takes. He also knows what he wants and tends to go after it until he gets it.

Juno knows what she wants and will go after it as long it involves her career as a director. She also tends to believe that she is not good enough for what she wants because of her life when she was younger.

Cannon and Juno have really great chemistry and it shows on the pages of this book. When they are forced (more or less) to work together on a movie, which is a story that has great meaning to some of Amelia's previous books, they are not on the best of terms. However, will being persistent help Cannon or will it allow Juno to fall back on what she has always thought?

Overall this story was amazing and showed true feeling not only with the characters but also with the scenes these characters were portraying.

Don't let the title fool you on this one. There is substance to this story. This is a terrific story with beautifully developed, not your usual characters, a wonderful plot and a fabulous backdrop of Hollywood movie making. A mildly taboo relationship between a woman director with her first big movie and her star actor who she didn't want in the beginning. As a woman, she had legitimate concerns. Juno is career-focused and intense and only concerned with her movie and any perception of wrongdoing with her hunky star. Cannon as the handsome, sexy hero known as a rom-com heartthrob doesn't want to be pigeonholed and is determined to be the serious action star needed for Juno's movie. He is intrigued by Juno and wears her down and she does succumbs to his charms after much cajoling. They are so great together. But what will the consequences be to her career if their relationship is exposed? This is a smart, sexy, emotional, slow-build romance that's superbly written. I loved it!

This was okay for me. The writing itself wasn't bad, but I just wasn't feeling the main characters together. I liked Cannon, but I wasn't a fan of Juno at all. The only part that I really liked her was in the end of the last chapter and the epilogue. She was this weird mix of bi***y and super self conscious. I understand that she didn't want people to look at her different knowing that she had a relationship with an actor in the film, but she never once took into consideration Cannon's feelings. When he told her how he felt after the film wrapped, I agreed with everything he said. I skimmed a little after it became clear that Juno wasn't going to change anything. I did like that there was a little cameo of Day and Wes from the other books. While this wasn't my favorite, I will be looking forward to whatever's next from this author.

4 1/2 stars. Tall, dark and handsome begins with a young, ambitious woman who is getting her shot to produce her first studio backed film. It’s a film that is important to her and after endless auditions for the male lead she finally finds the perfect man! But just as she begins to celebrate a higher up insists that she audition an actor she hates and whose acting she thinks sucks. But she is overridden and production begins.
From the very beginning she is a total bitch to the lead actor and she’s an uptight and unpleasant director.
What she doesn’t expect is to be attracted to the very man she has sworn to hate.
I like the writing, the plot and the characters but I couldn’t give this book 5 stars because I think the author carried the heroine’s bitchiness too far. Especially with the whole cast. I also felt that her background with her parents wasn’t developed enough.
But stilll a greT read! Highly recommend.

Tall, Dark & Handsome is a fun book to read! It's an adversaries to lovers and that's what drives our story. Juno Anderson is a female director on the brink of fame. She has her first big dream job to direct and had her eye on a certain actor when the higher ups told her that they had chosen another male lead in Cannon Hunt. He's a pretty boy actor from rom com movies and Juno is not pleased because this is a drama and she thinks that he isn't deep enough. Canon is used to being misjudged but isn't going to walk away from this movie even if the director is a hot PITA! Now if you want to know more, you need to read the book. It's told from dual POV and the movie is based on the story from Before She Was Mine so that was nice to revisit those characters. Like all the authors books, it's steamy, fun and with a bit of angst.

3.5 stars !

Juno Anderson is doing her dream job and this is her first role as the movie director for a film she
Is very passionate about and during casting she thinks she has found the perfect actor for the role!
But when the other directors and producer all agree on the rom-com heartthrob, Cannon Hunt, she has no choice
But to give him a chance despite her frustration and not believing he is the best choice or actor and also disliking the fact that she finds him
Very attractive indeed!

There’s an undeniable chemistry between these two characters and I absolutely loved Cannon Hunt!
I found Juno frustrating at times and for me the story started a little slow too but once Juno gave into her desire,
Things started to heat up and the story soon progresses and we’re given a bit of everything! finishing with an excellent emotional ending!

I Loved the book-ception with Amelia’s previous stories! Look forward to future releases!

Read For Author:
I love the way Amelia attacks her books with passion and humor and this book has both. Juno wants to be taken seriously as a female director on a military film and when she is overridden for her choice for lead actor in the film it burns her hide. What she doesn't tell anyone and has trouble admitting to herself that she is attracted to him.
Cannon Hunt has also been cast in Rom-Com and this is his chance to spread and to be honest the director isn't too bad on the eyes.
Will her stiff, unyielding ways ever let them have a real relationship even when the film raps or does Juno and Cannon both have so much baggage that this will never work out?
Way to Amelia on another great book.

Cannon and Juno are working together on a film about military heroes. She’s the director, and he is the actor. He is not the actor that she wanted for the film, but gets him anyways. She is very hateful towards him mostly because she’s fighting her attraction and trying to prove herself. I was more a fan of Cannon than I was of Juno just because he knew what he wanted and went for it and was completely supportive of Juno along the way all the while trying to bring her out of herself. I literally felt his pain when she rejected him and was happy for them when they were able to work it out. Sometimes it just takes time to figure out what you need in your life and sometimes you have to do without someone or something. That was exactly what Juno needed. Overall, very good read!
