Gilmore Girls may be over (at least, for now), but that doesn't mean that Lauren Graham will ever stop playing the part of Alexis Bledel's proud mom.

On Monday Graham channeled her inner Lorelai Gilmore and took to Twitter to congratulate her TV daughter on her recent Emmy win. "THIS IS SO AWESOME. Congratulations and love! xL," she wrote, seemingly just as excited as she was when Rory got into Yale on GG.

Bledel won her first Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for her role in The Handmaid's Tale, and Graham has been one of her biggest supporters throughout the process. "Congratulations, @alexisbledel, for the nom for your beautiful work on @HandmaidsOnHulu! So excited and happy for you. Brava! Love, LG," Graham tweeted when Bledel was first nominated.

In true Rory Gilmore fashion (remember her graduation speech at Chilton?), Bledel's Emmy acceptance speech was poised and impactful. She discussed The Handmaid's Tale's partnership with change.org and noted that it's meant "to encourage us all to take action, sign up, speak up, and stay awake." Backstage, she went on to tell members of the press, "I certainly can't speak to every issue—there certainly are so many these days—but I've certainly been listening a lot and really been engaged in the exchange, and I love that my character is so strong in the face of so much adversity. I'm very proud of that, and just can't wait to play her again and get back to work." No wonder her TV mom is so proud.

Considering Graham and Bledel played TV's most lovable, fastest-talking mother-daughter duo for the better part of the early-2000s, it's no surprise that the pair have a special offscreen relationship. "I thought we hit it off, and I thought that in enough ways, we look alike," Graham told Glamour, remembering the first time they met before Gilmore Girls started filming. "I just kept trying to put myself in her shoes. I came in from summer stock and kind of a different route, and I was always impressed by how much, just, natural ability she had from the beginning." In the same interview Bledel says she was "dazzled" by her TV mom at the beginning, which explains why they had seven seasons worth of amazing onscreen chemistry.

Now, if Emily Gilmore chimes in (or someone tweets the phrase "Oy, with the poodles"), we may have a nostalgia-induced heart attack.
