Selena Gomez Releases New Single ‘Love On’

Following

Selena Gomez has been busy gearing up for season 4 of her Emmy-nominated series Only Murders in the Building and working on her Rare Beauty cosmetics line. At the same time, she’s seemingly preparing to release her fourth studio album; she released “Single Soon” last August, and is back now with a new single, “Love On.”

The groovy pop track is Gomez’s first release since going public with her relationship with producer Benny Blanco, who produced “Single Soon,” at the end of last year. The song was produced by Grammy-winning group The Monsters & Strangerz, the team behind past Gomez songs throughout her career like “My Mind & Me,” “Vulnerable,” and “Forget Forever.” On “Love On,” Gomez promises her lover that he’s in for a good time. “Wait 'til I turn my love on / You'll get your thrill,” she teases. “Baby, if you can’t tell / You’re what I wanna love on.”

When speaking to fellow actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes on a recent episode of their SmartLess podcast, Gomez explained how she’s currently torn between her two artistic pursuits: music and acting. She also hinted that her next album will probably be her last.

“I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting,” the Golden Globe nominee said. “I am going to want to chill because I’m tired. I wanted to be an actress; I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else."

“I don’t think I’m the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs," she added. “But the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on.”
