In a sci-fi-ish future, Earthlings are is divided into 2 very different types: people who are super civilized with extraordinary intellectual and cerbral sensory powers; and people who barely have any semblance of being civilized at all. When a plague of some sort begins to overwhelm the super civilized, they stop being interested in living to the degree of becoming almost catatonic. Enter Zed (Sean Connenery), one of the under-civilized who crosses over into the deadly world of the super civilized. There he meets Consuella (Charlotte Rampling), a woman of influence. Their mutual attraction will either threaten the balance that prevents their differences from destroying them or could possibly be the answer to each group's set of problems. Originally released in 1974, Charlotte Rampling was only a 27yo. At that point in her acting career, she was very liberal and eager to portray characters that were exotic, erotic, often nude and or engaged in on screen sexual relationships. Sean Connery was super sought after and extremely virile. Put these 2 together and there's an explosive type of erotic ecstasy to behold. Though the sci-fi plot may seem far-fetched to the more grounded viewers, if the film can be viewed simply watching for the alchemy between Rampling and Connery, doing so will be well worth while~Read full review
