Northern Lights hike in Abisko National Park

Hiking in Abisko National park provides you with an opportunity to enjoy the scenery for as long as possible, giving you mind blowing memories while hunting for the Northern Lights.

Filled with expectancy, you get ready to experience a genuine mission: spotting the night's best Northern Lights. Using only hand-held oil lamps you go out into the dark polar night, stopping at places in the Abisko National Park that are known to give brilliant views of the lights. During the hike you learn more about this heavenly phenomenon. The route taken, downstream along Abisko River through mountain birch forests to Torneträsk, is a classic one. Have your camera ready in case the Northern Lights show. At the end of the tour, an open fire will warm you up warm while you can discuss impressions of your night time adventure with other participants. The distance of the hike is approx. 4-6 km.

November 19 to March 16 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 19:00 hrs.

50% discount (children up to 15 years). This activity is not recommended for children under 6 but if they wish to join, please contact us for further information.

Special conditions: We recommend to wear good walking shoes and warm winter clothes. The maximum number of participants is 16 persons.

Northern Lights: Kindly note that northern lights observations are never guaranteed (weather dependent; it must be dark and the sky must be clear). No refund can be made for activities booked if you do not see the northern lights.
