A kidnapping ignites an intergalactic war, as the demon-child comes of age on Earth. Is he the spawn of the evil god Moloch? When the demon-child teams up with a Molocha sorceress and a powerful druid to journey into the Land of Shadows, nobody knows whether the trio will save the kidnapped Brigit, or sacrifice her to Moloch. Brigit's fate heats up when she is thrown into a dungeon with a dead man walking. The Fomorian giant was resurrected from the dead, but what came back seems almost inhuman. Even his wife is terrified that the shade of Moloch lives inside of her now-deranged husband. While shades of Moloch send icy fingers across Earth, an Algolian warbird approaches Earth from space. The Algolian Admiral Skagg has his finger on the trigger, eager to blast Earth into oblivion. Meanwhile, the Argosy starship Shrike desperately searches for Earth — a planet they know only by name, but not location. War rages, while star-crossed lovers give in to death as they watch the destruction of the Isle of Destiny, ablaze in a pillar of fire. WARNING: Shades of Moloch, the second book in the Star Borne series, contains mature situations, violence, and language. Not recommended for anyone under 18 years of age.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

"Shades of Moloch: Star Borne: 2" was inspired by the Celtic mythology of the Tuatha dé Danann, Fomorians, and Picts in ancient Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man, Isle of Skye, the Inner and Outer Hebrides islands, Iceland, and Scandinavia.

About the Author

Known by the father of her high school friend as "the strange little girl who lives down the street," something was always different about her. No one suspected extraterrestrial involvement to explain the oddities... until now. As an abductee, the memories of which she shared in "Alien Nightmares: Screen Memories of UFO Alien Abductions," Sharon is also a believer full of questions that she has set out to answer. "Ancient Aliens and the Lost Islands" answers some of those questions, and it led her deep into Celtic mythology. As ancient texts only tell the Earthly portions of the ancient astronaut stories, her new epic series "Star Borne" speculates on the their story off-world.

Top review from the United States

Kidnapping and warrior quests and demon children and visitors from space...there's plenty to keep you riveted to this story. Oh, plus resurrection from the dead, always a dicey thing to attempt.

This review is hard to write without spoilers, but I'll do my best. With a host of characters carrying over from the first book in the series, the Tirnogians have been on Earth long enough to have both children and grandchildren, both of which have grown up to seek their own destiny in the Star Borne series.

More than ever, I feel sorry for Brigit in this book, as she seems to get the short end of the stick more than once. I know she's the one responsible for her ship being stranded on Earth, but surely she doesn't deserve to be her people's perpetual sacrifice whenever things go wrong. I can only hope her future holds more happiness as the series progresses.

Four stars for another fascinating tale.
