Having already shot the Amazon pilot “Alpha House” with John Goodman, Haley Joel Osment has set up his next three projects, starting with the indie “The World Made Straight” opposite Jeremy Irvine.
The other two projects are the indie comedy “Sex Ed” opposite Glen Powell and “Blank Nation” with Michelle Trachtenberg.
“The World Made Straight” will be helmed by David Burris. Set in a rural Appalachian community haunted by the legacy of a Civil War massacre, a rebellious young man struggles to escape the violence that would bind him to the past. “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” producer Todd J. Labarowski is producing.
“Sex Ed” revolves around Osment’s character who teaches sexual education to a bunch of middle schoolers despite his own lack of expertise in the field. Sources say Osment was particularly passionate about getting this project off the ground with his agency Resolution setting up the financing.
Osment will wrap up his busy schedule with the Susan Dynner-helmed “Blank Nation,” based on the true story of the start-up of alternative music video site BlankTV.com.
