The actor was was briefly fired from the show, along with original co-star Jorja Fox, in 2004 during a salary dispute but returned that season. He was also temporarily suspended from the show in 2013 following an on-set disagreement with one of the show’s writers over “the creative direction of his character,” according to the website. According to its sources, Eads’ split with the show is “amicable,” according to the website.
The series had its episode order reduced from 22 to 18 this year and is set to leave the air in 2015 when it will be replaced on Sunday nights by “CSI: Cyber.”
