This is the first place we visited in Stockholm. It is so because of two reasons… it is walkable from our hostel and the entry to the concert hall is free. The hall is hosting an art exhibition and there are free music concerts every day from young musicians of Sweden.
Inaugurated in 1926 , the hall homes the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic orchestra and this is the place where awarding ceremonies of the Nobel Prize and the Polar music prize are held every year. We are excited to step in the rooms where the legends once stood and sat. The feeling is something beyond words !
One of the architectonic masterpiece in Sweden, the Konserthuset celebrated royal Stockholm’s Philaharmonic orchestra’s 110th anniversary in 2012 and continues to gain international critical acclaim. It is one of Stockholm´s best-known landmarks and a popular meeting spot. It is also at stone-throw distance form the main shopping street of Stockholm. Just in front of the blue hall, there is a fruit and flower market in the daytime, offering you all kind of scandinavian berries and nursery fresh flowers During summertime the Stockholm Concert Hall is open daily 11am-5pm. It has an entry fee of 80 SEK. We do not know why this time it is free , but we are lucky. 🙂 If you buy a stockholm card, admission is free.
