The nearly $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Is the Fastest Production Lambo Ever

An improved power-to-weight ratio allows the car to reach a top speed of 217 mph…

The engineers of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce had a clear goal in mind: minimize the car’s weight to create the fastest production Lamborghini of all time. Carbon fiber is employed extensively—for the body, door panels, fenders, and even the sport bucket seats—to provide low heft and maximum rigidity. In fact, the Superveloce weighs 110 pounds less than the base Lamborghini Aventador, improving its power-to-weight ratio by 10 percent.

In addition, Lamborghini has improved the car’s aerodynamics by 150 percent, thanks to features like the large, racing-style wing, which can be manually adjusted to suit the preferred driving style. The 750-hp, V-12 engine propels the vehicle from zero to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of more than 217 mph. Moreover, the Superveloce’s ISR transmission has the fastest automated manual gearbox in the world.

The unique interior features Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin material, which is soft to the touch yet flexible and hard-wearing. The car’s launch color will be the specially created Rosso Bia with a black Alcantara leather interior, but it will be offered in five other colors with various personalization options. The Superveloce will be available this summer with a starting price of about $489,600. (lamborghini.com)
