Great for saving and building credit, but it takes too long to make deposits. The app says it takes 1-3 business days, but in reality it takes more than a week. Not only does it take forever to see the money in your account, but they also draft it out of your linked account, so you're down x,y,z amount of money and it won't appear on your step account. Definitely not very time efficient. It would be better if it was faster. My other bank takes about thirty minutes to take action.

Hi Richard! Money deposited from your bank account take 1-3 business days, which doesn't include weekends. This can be why it seems like sometimes it takes longer than the regular 1-3 business days. I really like this app. I think it makes saving easier to understand and overall is very useful. The layout update isn't as good as the old layout since the option to send money is a bit more hidden. But direct deposit works well, and the trivia and helpful information in the app is a great touch.

So far, so good. Finally showed on my credit report 2 months after opening, and boosted my score 2-3pts. As someone who's trying to recover my score after destroying it last year down to a 500, I couldn't qualify for any credit card that wasn't secure and most were wanting $2-$300 security deposit. Step didn't require any, and it's format prevents you from hurting your credit score, which is a huge plus if you're someone who's skilled at decimating it. Lol.
