Germination
To germinate Lilium formosanum var. pricei seeds, begin by preparing a potting mix with a blend of equal parts peat moss, perlite, and sand, or opt for a commercial seed-starting mix. Sow the seeds in individual containers or seedling trays, pressing them gently into the soil without burying them too deep. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged by misting it lightly. Cover the containers with a clear plastic lid or enclose them in a plastic bag to create a humid environment that retains moisture. Place the containers in a location with indirect sunlight and maintain temperatures around 60-70°F (15-21°C). Germination can take several weeks to a couple of months. As the seedlings emerge and develop a few sets of true leaves, transplant them carefully into larger pots or an outdoor garden area with well-draining soil, ensuring they have ample space for growth. Gradually introduce them to more direct sunlight while continuing to keep the soil slightly moist to support healthy development.
