The actress and singer, 31, has opened up about her career and goals in a new interview. “I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” Gomez said on the latest episode of the SmartLess podcast when asked about her two passions. She added: "I am going to want to chill because I’m tired. I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else." “I don’t think I’m the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs," she continued. The Only Murders in the Building star explained on the podcast — as reported by Variety — how her music career began and how she ended up having to juggle both singing and acting. “I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun,” the star told hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes. “But I was doing my TV show [Wizards of Waverly Place] at the same time and I just found it really fun, so I just kept going.” She went on to admit that her outlook has since changed. “But the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on,” she said. The star also revealed how she became interested in music while starring in Wizards of Waverly Place — her breakout role on the Disney Channel. “Disney is, it’s safe to say, a machine and, in a way, forcefully requires that I know how to sing so I could sing the theme song [of a show]. They know how to package someone and make it a whole triple threat thing,” she said.
