Stockard Channing selling cozy LA home for $2.5M

Actress Stockard Channing is offloading her cozy hideaway in Los Angeles’s Laurel Canyon neighborhood for $2.495 million.

Tucked behind a gated driveway on Woodrow Wilson Drive, the one-story house has three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a large entertaining area, according to the listing with Juliette Hohnen and Annie Stewart of Douglas Elliman posted last week.

“The house is charming, cozy and cottagey,” Hohnen said. “The living, dining rooms and the kitchen all open to the backyard and pool area, a perfect hangout place with views of the surrounding canyon.”

Interior design details of the 2,157-square-foot house, built in 1956, include vaulted wood ceilings, stained glass windows, fireplaces, built-in bookshelves and walk-in closets in the master suite, according to Hohnen.

Channing, 76, best known for playing Rizzo in the film “Grease” (1978) and First Lady Abbey Bartlet on the NBC television series “The West Wing” (1999–2006), bought the property for $870,000 more than 20 years ago, property records accessed through PropertyShark show.

An email sent to her representative seeking comment wasn’t immediately answered.

The property is only minutes from the Sunset Strip, Hollywood, West Hollywood and Studio City, “making it a great condo alternative for an actor to get away,” Hohnen said.
