Russell Brand accused of having a temper tantrum on airplane

Comedian Russell Brand reportedly caused a ruckus on a Qantas flight in Australia and marched off the plane before take-off.

According to fellow passenger Jordan Trevis, the 44-year-old actor was boarding a plane heading to Perth from Brisbane on Monday when he immediately whined about the seating.

“He gets on and he’s being a bit rude. He was complaining about the plane and how close he had to sit to someone else,” Trevis told The West Australian (via The Daily Mail). “He started complaining about the seat and the quality, it wasn’t what he was expecting.”

Trevis said that the British comedian then grabbed his bag, went to the bathroom and then hopped off the plane before it took off.

“He was causing a bit of a scene. They [the flight attendants] weren’t too happy with him, he was clearly being a bit rude,” Trevis continued.

Brand’s alleged hissy fit comes on the heels of him canceling a sold-out gig in Perth on Monday night after a woman who attended a recent show tested positive for coronavirus.

“We have to SADLY CANCEL TONIGHT’S SHOW IN #PERTH because there has been a CONFIRMED CASE OF CORONAVIRUS in someone who attended a recent show and I am not happy with risk for me or for any of you,” he tweeted. “My apologies, I hope I see you soon.”

Brand is Down Under on his Recovery Live! tour which intersperses stand-up comedy along with stories about his own struggles to achieve sobriety. He has been sober since 2002.

Reps for Qantas and Brand did not respond for comment.
