Charlotte Gainsbourg loses cat, includes portfolio shot on ‘missing’ flier

Cherchez la chat!

Charlotte Gainsbourg has been plastering Greenwich Village with what may be the world’s most fabulous “missing cat” poster.

The sign begins by addressing her neighbors — “Chère New York” — and bafflingly includes a glamorous black-and-white shot of the actress daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin.

Page Six is told that the gray British Shorthair, Milo, appears to have snuck out of her apartment on Jan. 15. The cell number listed for Gainsbourg goes to an assistant for the star, it turns out.

“We’re worried [Milo] might be in someone’s home,” said the assistant. Asked why Gainsbourg included the photo on the poster, the assistant said, “She had heard that letting people know that it was her cat could be useful. She’s not doing it to be showy. He’s like a child to her — she’d do anything that she thought would help get him back.”
