The victims of the London terror attack
Thursday 8 June 2017 13:49, UK
Eight people were killed and 48 others injured in the London Bridge terror attack.
Family and friends of those who died have paid tribute.
:: Christine Archibald
The 30-year-old, from Canada, was the first victim of the attack to be named.
She died in her fiance's arms after being struck by the terrorists' speeding van on London Bridge on Saturday night.
Ms Archibald worked in a homeless shelter before moving to Europe to be with her fiance.
In a statement, her family said: "She had room in her heart for everyone and believed strongly that every person was to be valued and respected.
"She lived this belief working in a shelter for the homeless until she moved to Europe to be with her fiance. She would have no understanding of the callous cruelty that caused her death.
"Please honour her by making your community a better place. Volunteer your time and labour or donate to a homeless shelter. Tell them Chrissy sent you."
:: James McMullan
James, 32, from Hackney, was last seen outside the Barrowboy And Banker pub and his sister said police told her his bank card was found on a body at the scene of the attack.
Melissa McMullan described her brother as "an inspiration".
She told Sky News: "While our pain will never diminish, it is important for us all to carry on with our lives in direct opposition to those who wish to destroy us, and remember that hatred is the refuge of small-minded individuals and will only breed more.
"From his friends that were with him that night, they want everyone to know what a generous and caring friend he was.
"Words will never be able to match his essence, there will only ever be one James."
She added that police told her they were unable to formally identify James until the coroner's report is released.
:: Kirsty Boden
Australian nurse Kirsty Boden was killed as she ran to help people on London Bridge.
Relatives said the 28-year-old was "loved and adored by her family, friends and boyfriend".
In a statement, her family said: "She was the most outgoing, kind and generous person, who loved to help people. Helping people was what she loved to do in her job as a nurse and in her daily life.
"As she ran towards danger, in an effort to help people on the bridge, Kirsty sadly lost her life.
"We are so proud of Kirsty's brave actions which demonstrate how selfless, caring and heroic she was, not only on that night, but throughout all her life. Kirsty - we love you and we will miss you dearly."
Dame Eileen Sills, chief nurse at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where Kirsty was a staff nurse, paid tribute.
In a statement, she said: "Kirsty was an outstanding nurse and a hugely valued member of the staff team in Theatres Recovery, described by her colleagues as 'one in a million' who always went the extra mile for the patients in her care."
:: Sara Zelenak
Family and friends of the 21-year-old nanny from Brisbane, Australia, have said she died in the attack.
Her father, Mark Wallace, shared a video of his daughter on Facebook and wrote: "I really miss that funny little laugh."
Friend Elle Bishop wrote on Facebook: "I find solace in the fact that the hate that saw you taken from us, you have never felt inside, making you a remarkable young woman."
Ms Zelenak had not been seen since the attack after she became separated from friends on Saturday night.
Her family said they were "deeply saddened at the tragic loss of our beautiful daughter".
A statement said: "Sara's family and friends are devastated. We would like to thank our friends who are helping us through this very difficult time."
Another friend, Sam Hetherington, said: "I can't believe we don't get to grow old together. Just Thursday I messaged you and you told me everything will always work out.
"You would be so overwhelmed by the love from everyone and probably be salty from the dorky pictures we have together that are all over the world hahaha.
"Rest easy wherever you are."
:: Sebastien Belanger
The 36-year-old chef had watched the Champions League final at the Barrowboy and Banker pub and was drinking at the Boro Bistro near Borough Market when the attack happened.
He was last seen running from the bar.
Mr Belanger, originally from Angers, western France, had lived in London for several years and worked at the Coq d'Argent restaurant in the City.
His girlfriend, Gerda Bennet, 22, from London, wrote a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, saying: "Every night I will meet you in my dreams."
She added: "You are my best, the love you gave me will always be here."
:: Alexandre Pigeard
French media has named the 27-year-old, who worked as a waiter at the Boro Bistro, as one of those killed.
Boro Bistro manager Vincent Le Berre described how his colleague was attacked in the bar near Borough Market, Le Telegramme reported.
He said: "I managed to escape him (attacker), but my friend Alexandre did not have that chance. He was hit in the neck with a knife."
According to reports, Mr Pigeard was from Caen, Normandy, but had been living in London for more than two years.
Mr Pigeard was working on the terrace of the restaurant, where he had been an employee for nine months, when the attack took place.
In a statement, his family said: "Alexandre was a marvellous son, a perfect older brother and a radiant young man, much loved by all who had the good fortune to meet him.
"All his friends praised his kindness, his good humour and his generosity.
"Alexandre was passionate about electronic music and a member of Club 808, a group of DJs based in Caen (Calvados).
:: Ignacio Echeverria
The family of the Spanish banker, 39, have confirmed he was killed in the attack after trying to fend off a terrorist with his skateboard and help an injured woman.
According to Spanish media, relatives were told of his death by Spanish ambassador Carlos Bastarreche, after the family flew to London on Tuesday.
Mr Echeverria was last seen in the area of Borough Market defending a woman with his skateboard.
His father, Joaquin Echeverria, said his son's employer HSBC had provided the services of a private detective to help with the search.
His sister, Ani Lla, said in a statement: "Ignacio did not survive the moment of the attack. Thank you to everyone you loved and look after yourselves."
On Wednesday, relative Isabel Duran wrote on Twitter: "Ignacio Echeverria attacked the terrorists to try to save a woman.
"He is in heaven with his inseparable skateboard."
:: Xavier Thomas
Mr Thomas has been missing since he was caught up in the attack with his girlfriend Christine Delcros.
Officers searching for the French national recovered a body from the River Thames on Tuesday night.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Thomas' next of kin have been informed.
The 45-year-old and his girlfriend were visiting London for the weekend and were walking south across London Bridge when the attack took place, according to police.
Ms Delcros was seriously injured when she was struck by the van.
Witness accounts suggest Mr Thomas was thrown into the Thames by the impact of the collision, Scotland Yard said.
