Jason Segel found himself in the middle of the action during a wild wrestling match in Los Angeles on Monday night.
The How I Met Your Mother actor got caught in the firing line as he sat in the crowd for the Republic of Lucha event in Los Angeles, California and got called out by former WWE and ex-IMPACT Wrestling star Sami Callihan.
Addressing Jason from the ring, the intense wrestler referenced Forgetting Sarah Marshall and said: ‘Ladies and gentleman, we’ve got a big star in the crowd tonight, Jason Segel!’
The AGe-year-old actor cheered and waved his hands in the air as he stood up to soak in the cheers from the packed out live crowd, beaming away as he teasingly threatened the intimidating former world champion.
‘Come on Callihan! You’re going down,’ he joked as he made a cut throat gesture, and the wrestler had a fiery message in response.
‘Look, I’ve been watching all night, I’ve seen you sitting there in the crowd having a great time. I’ve been watching you since I was a little kid,’ he admitted.
‘So I wanted to, from the bottom of my heart, tell you from me to you… that you can go f**k yourself!’
During his main event match, Callihan was facing masked luchador Penta Le Zero Miedo – who runs the Republic of Lucha promotion with his tag team partner Rey Fenix – in a bout that spilled into the crowd.
It meant Jason found himself right in the middle of the action, with Penta sprawled on top of him while he unsuccessfully begged Callihan to reconsider his next move.
Instead, he delivered a strong superkick to his opponent, sending him further into the actor’s lap as he couldn’t hide his excitement.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) referee Aubrey Edwards was in charge for the match, and she managed to grab Jason for a selfie after the show.
‘Tonight’s episode of “How I Met Jason Segel” Fun times at @republicoflucha,’ she quipped, while Callihan himself also shared a picture with the actor in the crowd.
He simply captioned the photo: ‘Jason f’n Segel.’
