Just Do It

As Nike so eloquently puts it with their slogan

Nike is a fitness brand, if this somehow has escaped you — though I seriously doubt it, and their focus is to create fitness products that help you to move forward. With everything from shoes to fuel bands and smartphone apps, they have pretty much everything you need.

Now, I just want to make clear that this is not a promotion post or anything similar to that, this is just a simple observational post with the main focus on the slogan: Just Do It.

Ever since I started the “Just Do It” (movement?) my life has changed a lot. By doing what I initially set out to do has dramatically changed my life in ways I did not think possible. For years I have had this nagging feeling that I was doing something wrong and that I should be doing something else, seriously — all the signs were there for me to see, I just missed them. Somehow I have missed years and years of things I really want to do. If it’s not work that stop me from doing it it’s something else (often myself). Not this time though, no, this time I will do it no matter what tries to stop me (including myself). I will, and have, embraced everything in my life and every single thought about what I should be doing. And guess what, I’m actually doing it.

  1. Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to travel to Japan to learn the language and meet amazing people, but always there as been something that stopped me from doing it. Not this time though, this time I have applied to several language schools in cities like Tokyo, Oska and Kyoto. I have started a language exchange with a Japanese woman and we have really hit it off, we have actually hit it off to the level that I will be going to Japan early next year to meet her. This leaves me no choice but to actually go, whether it be in January (as planned) or March/April when the schools start, I will go there and I will live the life I have always wanted. I am positive that I will be staying in Japan for the rest of my life, as I have always dreamt of doing. I’m even learning Japanese beforehand to have some basic knowledge and to find my way around once I get there.
  2. I have finally relaunched my shop on CreativeMarket, even though I have been a member since 2012 and haven’t really put much effort into it until now. I even created a brand to sell under called MadeInSweden, though I haven’t set up a website yet — which I will be doing soon. Make sure to go and check out some of my products and maybe even pick something up. I would really appreciate it.
  3. I have gotten more to do at work, though it’s only 1-2h extra every week, it’s still something and I’m really happy to get it.
  4. I have reached my goal weight for the summer and I will be hitting the gym a lot more frequently than I have for the past month. Sweden has been really hot this summer and it has been hell to go to a gym without air condition, so I have only been going for some power walks — though infrequently but enough to help me feel amazing.

These things and plans would never have happened unless I actually said to myself, without letting anything stop me (including myself as often is the case), “Just Do It”. I have started to apply this into my regular rutine every day and things have started to happen more and more. I can actually feel that I’m on the right path for me and I will not let anything stop me from doing it.

The slogan “Just Do It” is something we all should live by, seriously, go out and do that thing you’ve always wanted to do. Get out there with promoting your brand or products in every way you could possibly imagine. Pick up that phone and call that boy/girl you have a crush on. Don’t wait, “Just Do It”!

Yes, I realize this post is quite similar to my “Just get on with it” post but seriously, if I can help motivate just one person to “Just Do It”, I am a happy camper — even if this means I have to (maybe) repeat myself sometimes.
