Probably none of our readers have been to Jumbo Stay, so we’d love to tell you about it. For those of you who haven’t spent a lot of time in crowded airbuses, trying to rub your crooked legs to regain their sensitivity, dreaming of lights out, this place will please you. And avid flight enthusiasts won’t remember the discomfort and inability to relax because they’re stuck in an uncomfortable position while their ears are deafened by the constant roar of the engines.
It should be noted that the designers of this complex have done an excellent job of recycling the old plane and turning it into a modern, comfortable Swedish hostel. First of all, you save money and also get an absolutely extraordinary experience. The hostel plane is based at Stockholm Airport, set on concrete blocks, its wheels dangling helplessly in the cold air as if to remind you of happy times…
Anyway, as a guest, you can make use of the checkroom in the form of a hinged locker, to connect the air blowing through the winding ventilation system of the plane. Luckily, the toilets were expanded to accommodate showers. If you don’t mind eating on the flight, get ready to enjoy your flight, because the canteen serves food in the hostel as well. If you prefer something more edible, stock up beforehand at the airport. In any case, you will remember a night here for the rest of your life!
Despite the fact that all the interior rooms have acquired a new functional purpose, and were completely converted into living rooms, each guest of the hostel can feel like a passenger on a flight, which is carried out on the legendary airliner Boeing 747-200.
The hostel has a special lounge area, in the interior of which the original chairs, previously installed in first class, were used. In addition, in the interior of the hostel, you can find other attributes of the real plane — oxygen masks, and safety instructions.
Each of the rooms is different in that it has a unique and inimitable design. Therefore, it is easy for a guest of the hostel to find the most suitable option of accommodation for the required period of time. However, we have come across hostels with original designs in less exotic places as well.
On board the Boeing 747-200, there is a double room with a separate bathroom. The room is done in red and white tones that accentuate each other perfectly, making accents on the necessary interior elements.
The Jumbo Stay hostel is able to accommodate 76 people at a time on its air-board. All available rooms differ from each other in terms of comfort and cost of living. Often, the area of rooms does not exceed 6 square meters. The cost of living is affordable for all categories of travelers. The greater the number of seats in the room, the lower the price for a chair. The hostel has rooms for four, two, and one client. In addition, there are separate rooms for couples.
Due to the fact that the hostel is limited in space by the size of the plane, most rooms are not only compact in size but also lack their own bathrooms and toilets. There are shared showers on each floor of the hostel. The cost of living in a single or double room with a view of Arlanda Airport will cost the client the same amount as the cost of living in a mid-class hotel.
Each guest at the Jumbo Stay gets free wireless internet access. The network is available in all rooms. A continental breakfast is not included in the price of rooms for two or four people; it must be paid for separately. If other rooms are booked, then breakfast is free.
Even if you have to pay for breakfast, it is a must-try, as it is served in a special container, just as it is on a real flight.
