This is a fantastic park and one of my favourite spots in Newcastle-also the oldest green space in the city! The main attraction is definitely the beautiful and secluded lake that provides a lovely walk and ample benches for soaking up the sunshine. This also proves popular with runners and fisherman! Great for wildlife but be careful of the birds as they can be overly protective when they have chicks.
If you're looking for a tranquil haven away from the city centre then this is perfect. Multiple green spaces for lounging around or having a barbecue as well as having tennis courts,a basketball court and a bowling green. It is usually the venue of choice for certain summer events too like gay pride and the Newcastle green festival.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mustafa M.Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom183Jun 25, 2021

Wonderful park! When I first saw this place, I was amazed right away!
If you want peaceful, there are areas for that. This is where I always stay every time I wish to unwind.
This park is very popular for runners. There are four tennis courts and a basketball court. There is a playground for children as well, which makes it popular for families.
The best feature of this park is the pond.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Rupert…)Inverness, United Kingdom727138Sep 5, 2011
A fair sized park in a central location. Big enough for a longish walk, not so big you can get lost.

Leazes Park is a lovely, picturesque park situated next to St James Park football stadium. Only a ten minute walk from the city centre it's a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The focal point of the park is a small boating lake where you can feed ducks and swans. Leazes Park is popular with families as it features a modern children's playground with a range of unusual rides. The park is also home to some charming mosaics. I would definitely recommend Leazes Park as a place to unwind after a manic days shopping. An added bonus is the little lakeside kiosk, which serves hot food and drinks.

a nice park opposite the RVI hospital, it has been restored somewhat in recent years to have more of the Victorian features re-placed, the pond has been recently cleaned out , in which they found a WW1 hand grenade, an original Victorian sign, and strange cross bred of fish that was part goldfish that was unique to leazes pond caused by people throwing the goldfish they had won from the hoppings fair in the pond on there way home ,who'd a thought evolution in Newcastle just kidding. It has some lovely walks around the park lots of seating areas, bandstands and places to play football, it really is a gem in the heart of Newcastle city centre. Highly advised to have a walk there on a lovely summers day, a great playground for the kids. It has tennis courts a basketball court and various art projects which are dotted around the park, for you to enjoy.

City cente park with basket ball courts tennis courts and a big pond. Fairly recent makeover has tidied it up quite a bit and more soft landscaping. Previously a lot of halloween style creepy trees! They have a number of events such a s the Green festival which is not all tree hugging but does hav some tasty food stalls and beer only time you are allowed to drink in park I think. Nice cream on a summer day from the stand is nice treat.

Beautiful area, lovely picnic spots, generally always quiet. Promenade is a lovely area and the walk around the lake tops it off for me ! There is even a big play park near the top end of the park for the family to enjoy !!

Leazes park is located right next to the football stadium and offers a nice, quiet chilled out break from the city. It's not a huge park but it's big enough to be the home of the Green festival which happens every year, usually in June. The Green fest runs for two days. There's a family day and then a day where all you can see is inebriated bodies lying around the ground. The ducks and swans on the lake are always wanting to be fed. Cheeky birds! This park is perfect for picnics in the hot days.
