Sad news for Bon Jovi fans.

Jon Bon Jovi gave an update on his health after undergoing vocal cord surgery in 2022.

The “Livin’ On a Prayer” singer told Boston radio station Mix 104.1 Boston over the weekend that he’s unsure if he’ll ever be able to tour again.

“I don’t know about a tour,” he explained. “It is my desire to do a tour next year, but I’m just still recovering from a major surgery.”

He told PEOPLE he underwent the procedure because one of his vocal cords was “atrophying,” with one vocal cord being “thick as the thumb” and the other being “thick as a pinky.”

“So the strong one was pushing the weak one aside, and I wasn’t singing well,” he further explained. “My craft was being taken from me.”

He says he’s well on the road to recovery and was able to do a song a day for his upcoming album “Forever,” which he announced on Instagram.

“My need, want, desire is to be able to do two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end,” he told Mix 104.1. “And so I’m working towards that goal.”

The band’s 16th studio album is due out on June 7. The first single off the project, “Legendary,” is out now.
