EUGENE, Ore. (KVAL) - Oregon State Police say a man threw money from a vehicle while driving on Tuesday night.
Motorists had stopped on Interstate 5 to gather the money, which was dangerous and negatively impacted the flow of traffic.
Police located Colin Davis McCarthy, 38, of Eugene, near the scene, who said he "wanted to bless others with gifts of money."
Police warned McCarthy of littering and the potential for creating a hazard on the interstate, and he agreed to halt the hurling. McCarthy was neither cited nor charged with any crime.
Officials say the total sum of money dispersed was undetermined but considered to be in the thousands.
