Our unit the "WOW" project is a project where we make wearable art or some kind of clothing with unconventional materials and through our creativity. When we are done designing out werable art we will present our clothing to our school in an assembly.
Artist: Xu Ming
In this wearable art I think that this would be made out of some kind of paper and because it looks stiff and I don't think materials like cloth would be able to look as stiff. For the hat typr think I think it would be a little bit of paper and cotton. Five words I would describe this colthing would be detailed, Asian, swirly, modern, clean. This clothing lookos like a dragon becasuse on the body it has like a body of a dragon and you can see the head of the dragon on her arm. I think the principles of design on this clothing would either be repetition or rythm/movement becuase the design of the curvy and swirly lines go all around her body and the design of the dragon scales do the same but only in the front of her body. I think it was made by making each peice individually and then sticking them on the one big peice of base plate kind of thing. This clothing makes me feel very ancient and the artist maybe wants me to feel the asian culture. I'm feeling this because the artist put a dragon on his/her art work and that makes me feel like it would be somewhere in the midevil times. I think that moderness and ancient asia inspired this artist because usually when people think modern they would think white and clean, but she/he put swirls and a dragon into the art to show asia I think.
