Speaking with indianexpress.com, Ushakiran Sisodia, Head, Diet and Nutrition, Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital said that pomelo also helps in weight loss and reduces cholesterol levels. “Pomelo is a highly nutritious fruit that has several health benefits. It is an excellent source of vitamin C and fiber, which can help in weight loss and reducing cholesterol levels. The presence of antioxidants in pomelo makes it effective in fighting against free radicals and can also have anti-aging properties,” she says.
She added, “Consuming pomelo regularly can support heart health by reducing the risk of heart diseases. Pomelo also uplifts liver function as it contains carbohydrates and vitamin C, which aid in improving immunity. Furthermore, pomelo is rich in potassium and iron, which are essential for maintaining overall health. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it a good choice for people with diabetes”.
