In a thrilling announcement for fans of architecture and design, television icon Kevin McCloud is set to grace Australian shores once again in February 2024. This time, he brings with him a fresh show, promising an evening filled with captivating insights, behind-the-scenes tales, and live entertainment.
Kevin McCloud, celebrated as a BAFTA award-winning broadcaster, TV host, writer, environmentalist, and even an amateur balloonist, is no stranger to the spotlight. His upcoming show, titled “Kevin McCloud’s Home Truths,” is slated to be more than just a live talk. It promises a whirlwind of laughter, revelations from his distinguished television journey, and an unfiltered Q&A session. Fans will have the unique opportunity to pose their questions directly to the renowned host of Grand Designs.

For over two decades, Australians have warmly embraced Kevin McCloud, tuning in to his insights on the popular BBC series, Grand Designs. Through this platform, Kevin has enlightened viewers on architecture, sustainable building, design, and much more, spotlighting some of the UK’s most remarkable home transformations.
Speaking about his connection with Australia, Kevin remarked, “Australia is an extraordinary place where luckily I feel very welcome. I’m drawn to the vibrant energy and the can-do spirit of the people here. I eagerly anticipate my return with this brand new show.”
“Kevin McCloud’s Home Truths” promises an interactive Q&A segment, offering attendees the chance to discuss their burning questions about architecture, DIY, and even home décor specifics like cushions.
Kevin’s passion for design and architecture isn’t a newfound interest. He grew up in a house built by his parents in Bedfordshire and pursued studies in the history of art and architecture at Cambridge. There, he showcased his talents by designing shows for the Footlights theatre club, collaborating with stars like Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, and Emma Thompson. Kevin’s diverse experiences also include studying opera in Italy and designing the renowned fruit and vegetable ceiling at Harrods Food Hall.
His charm and expertise haven’t gone unnoticed. The Daily Mail labeled him as the “heartthrob – the one your wives all fancy”, while The Guardian praised him for his taste and integrity. VICE even hailed him as “the most puzzlingly charismatic TV host ever,” a description Kevin playfully disputes.
